Description
Hello, we are Jay and Ginevra - we have been together almost 5 years and we live in Oxford, England.
We are looking to spend a few months travelling around South America to improve our Spanish, make new connections and immerse ourselves in the local culture.
We would love to spend some time in nature, learn how to slow down and live in the moment (and hopefully learn a few useful skills!)
Ginevra: I am originally from Sicily, Italy. When I was 21, I moved to the USA to work as an au pair, and then moved to England where I have been living for the past 5 years and a half.
I have worked with children most of my life (as a nanny and a nursery teacher) but now I am working in an office as a personal assistant.
I quickly adapt to new environments and I love travelling and sharing my culture with others.
I like crocheting, especially to make my own clothes - I have been dancing cuban salsa for the past year - I love ALL animals and would love to have a workaway experience which involves taking care of them - I enjoy working out and trying new activities whenever I can.
Jay: I'm from Oxford, UK. I'm a chartered engineer who specialises in the design of electrical and control systems for industrial applications. I started working quite young and completed all my studies part-time, so I like to think my work ethic is one of my biggest strengths. I'm hoping that by working away in a different environment I can learn some new skills while helping out. I love animals and would like to work outdoors more. My parents had chickens and a small vegetable garden when I was growing up, so I have some basic experience with this.
I enjoy activities such as running and hiking. I spent a few years learning Spanish but took a break to learn Italian, so I'm a little rusty! I enjoy drawing but would really love to learn how to paint.
We both love cooking and we are really good at it! :)
