Description
I'm a creative, caring and hard working guy from London that loves to have a laugh and learn about different people and cultures. I studied art at university but have found myself (like so many others) trapped in a rat race that leaves little time for the true joys in life. Despite this I love socializing and meeting new people even if I can be a little introverted at first.
My passion in life is art, and I love discussing it along with cinema and music. I primarily work with collage and paint, with a bit of an obsession over bad greetings cards. Many of my friends are professionals in the fields of science and medicine, so I really enjoy discussing and learning from people with interesting backgrounds.
I have worked in the hospitality industry for 14 years, with the past 2 year being as a manager of a busy pub/hotel so I'm very used to a hard days work, and no stranger to physical labour. I pride myself on my work ethic and how much I care about the jobs I do along with the interpersonal skills that come from running busy pubs/bars.
I have completed 1 workaway before which was a month in Bulgaria earlier this year where I worked on a a couple of properties in the countryside, helping with various task. It was an amazing learning experience for me and has given me the bug to keep travelling! The work in Bulgaria was general maintenance, farming, construction/carpentry and animal care, I became particularly fond of looking after livestock and learning about farming sustainably.
Overall I'm looking to meet new people, explore a new country and help another person with their projects - hopefully getting to know myself a little better in the process.Interests

More details about your skills
- Catering/hospitality:
15 years in the Hospitality industry in all imaginable roles. Chef, cleaner, bartender, cocktail bartender, working in hotels. I've done it all, but most recently I have found myself in management, running a team of about 25 staff in a busy pub.
- Hard work, dedication and self-motivation:
Due to the point above I am very used to working hard, physical jobs that require patience and diligence. Waking up early and sleeping late are common along with 10, 12, or even 16 hour shifts on your feet. It's not something I would love to go back to, but I can confidently say I am not a stranger to hard work!
- General maintenance:
Running an old pub for several years has taught me a lot about general maintenance and 'handyman' work. I love to fix things when they break and don't mind getting my hands dirty with things like plumbing. In a previous workaway I learned basic carpentry skills and even made a small set of steps out of wood.
- Art:
I studied art at university and unfortunately don't have the time to draw/paint as much as I'd like anymore. A lot of my free time on my previous workaway was spent drawing and I'd love to have the opportunity to do it again on other trips.
- Beginner knowledge of plants, animals and homesteading:
My previous workaway in Bulgaria gave me some basic knowledge of what goes into self sustaining living and the multitude of challenges involved.Age
