  • Description

    Hello!

My name is Gaspar Chevojon, and I’m 18 years old. After completing my A-level equivalent (the French baccalauréat), I decided to take a gap year to reflect on my future, explore new things… and above all, to improve my English. I have a decent level, but I’m really keen to make progress, especially in speaking and everyday conversation.

I chose the United Kingdom for this adventure, an island I’ve never visited before, but have always wanted to discover. My aim is to experience true immersion, meet new people, and share simple, meaningful moments with my hosts.

I’m a curious person, always happy to lend a hand. I enjoy DIY, gardening, cooking (especially baking 🍰!). I can be a little shy at first, but I adapt quickly, and I’m open-minded, calm, and like to do things properly and with care.

In terms of hobbies, I play basketball with friends (not in a club) and go to the gym regularly, it’s my way of letting off steam and keeping a good balance.

I’m lucky enough to travel a lot thanks to my father, who is an airline pilot. This has allowed me to discover amazing countries such as Jordan, Peru, Brazil, and Italy. These experiences have taught me to be open to others, to respect differences, and to see each day as an opportunity to meet wonderful people.

I’m really looking forward to this Workaway experience, to share my energy, to learn, to help out, and to improve my English in a warm, human and respectful environment.

    Hope to meet you soon,
    Gaspar

I’m a versatile and resourceful person, always eager to learn new things.

I have experience with bike maintenance and repairs, I’ve been cycling for years and I know how to handle common issues such as punctures, replacing parts, making adjustments, and so on.
Although I haven’t had formal training in DIY, I’m generally quite handy and I’m not afraid to roll up my sleeves and get stuck in.

I’m also very comfortable around children, including toddlers, as well as people with disabilities. In France, I’ve done babysitting several times for friends of my parents. I used to prepare meals, organise board games or other activities, take the children out for walks, accompany them to school, and get them ready for bed in the evening.

When it comes to cooking, I can prepare simple, healthy, and balanced meals. I’m not a top chef, but I genuinely enjoy cooking. I also have a bit of experience with baking. When I was around 12, as a birthday present, I took part in a week-long baking course at one of Alain Ducasse’s schools in Paris. So I can make crêpes, chocolate fondants, cookies… and I’d be more than happy to bake some for you!

I’m a native French speaker, and I’d be glad to help you improve your French if you’re interested. In return, I’d really love to make progress in English I’m motivated and ready to learn!

  • What else ...

I grew up with animals, especially cats, and I’ve always had a good connection with them. Most of them seem to like me! I’m also comfortable around dogs, rabbits, horses… I know how to behave with them, feed them, take them for walks, and so on.

My parents are divorced, and I split my time between their homes, one week with each. I have two older brothers with whom I get along really well. The eldest, Max, is 23, and Tom is 21. We often go on holiday together.

I don’t mind doing cleaning at all. I’m a tidy, discreet person who respects shared spaces.

I’m a Christian and interested in religion. I enjoy going to church on Sunday mornings. That said, I’m completely open to other religions and beliefs.

Music plays a big role in my life. I listen to it almost every day, and I enjoy all kinds of genres. I’m especially into rap, jazz, reggae and house music. Rock is not really my favourite, but I’m always curious and love discovering new tracks.
