  • Description

    Hi there!

I'm Francesca, a 23-year-old Italian girl looking for an enriching and exciting new life adventure.
I'm a kind, thoughtful and caring person, and I'm currently discovering and exploring my more creative and curious side.
I really like the outdoors, and I spend quite some time hiking, cycling and gardening surrounded by nature. I've always had a big love for animals, and ever since I was a child I've had all kinds of pets in my house. I've also gone horse riding for about 8 years of my life, teaching kids in my spare time.
Despite my love for the outdoors, I also enjoy my time indoors, especially in the winter time: I'm an avid reader, I'm trying new arts and crafts like drawing and air dry clay, and I really love cooking, both for myself and other people.

I’ve studied psychology here in Italy for about two years, but I’ve been taking a break from my studies for the past year or so. This break has honestly been the best decision I've ever made, as it has allowed me to grow up and is now making me learn so much about what makes me passionate and really happy in life.
I’ve spent the last year doing an italian project called “servizio civile”, a mixed experience of working and volunteering, spending every day with kids from 7 to 11 years old in an elementary school. I've always loved kids, but this experience has really helped me realize how much I love working with them, even though through babysitting I've learnt that I prefer having a one-on-one relationship with them.

I am now thrilled and more than ready for new exciting and challenging opportunities, hoping to broaden my horizons and grow by meeting lovely people and cultures.

  • More details about your skills

I absolutely love cooking, and I've become quite skilled at it over the years. I love baking bread and sweets, making things from scratch, learning new tecniques and experimenting with unique flavours and cuisines from all over the world. I love cooking for people, as it challenges me more than cooking for myself and also brings me a lot more joy. I can't wait to cook for new people and learn new flavours along the way

Coming from a big family with a big house, and me being the eldest daughter, I've learned how to take care of the house: cleaning, dusting, doing the dishes, making the beds and organizing stuff are things I now do almost on a daily basis and that I can definitely put at the host disposal

My home has a big garden, and throughout the years I've learnt how to take care of it. Now I'm helping out my grandpa with the vegetable garden, as well as growing some produce of my own. I do know my way around plants, both indoors and outdoors, but I'd love to learn more from future experiences

I really like kids, as I've realized after my work experience of the past year and doing some hours of babysitting with small groups of children. I genuinely enjoy playing with them, reading them books and doing all kinds of arts and crafts together.

I also have some manual skills: I can do some wood-work, such as sanding and painting furniture, I can repair bikes, I can paint walls and draw (I'm not much of an artist, but I'm becoming very passionate of drawing and I'm improving my abilities), and I can sew (I'm not super skilled, but I can repair clothes). These crafts are some of the ones I'm looking to improve in my workaway experience
