Description
I'm a 22-year-old graduate student and I'm taking a gap year before starting a master's degree. I'd like to work and help others during this time, and especially practise my German as I'd like to take the Goethe C1 exam next year. I've been taking German lessons since I was 12, so I'm roughly at B1/B2 level, but it's far from perfect and I'd really like to practise speaking with German speakers.
I like outdoor activities and I'm sporty. I grew up in a small town in Switzerland on Lake Geneva, so I'm used to cycling in the countryside, swimming and hiking in the mountains. Having studied in London, I love city life just as much. In a new city, I like to discover the nightlife, the theatres and cinemas, as well as the museums.
During the summer, I teach windsurfing in my home town. I'm sociable and I like to talk, but I also like quiet moments and solitude to rest, for example at home I like to go to the public library and read comics.
I've just signed up for Workaway and I'm very excited because it's exactly what I'm looking for, work experience and improving my German. I'm looking for opportunities as soon as possible as I might start an internship in the first half of 2026.

I had all the privacy and comfort I needed in a cosy, well-heated room. I also particularly appreciated having my own bathroom.
