Hallo. Ich bin Elisabeth aus Glasgow, Schottland.

Zurzeit konzentriere ich mich auf das Reisen innerhalb deutschsprachiger Länder. Ich studiere gerade Deutsch, mit der Absicht, Übersetzerin zu werden. Daher möchte ich mich vollkommen in die Sprache vertiefen.

Es freut mich, in der Natur zu sein, und ich schwimme und wandere gern. Ich liebe auch Tiere. Wenn ich Zeit habe, nähe und male ich, und ich singe im Kammerchor. Ich habe auch oft an Laienspielen teilgenommen. Es gefällt mir, Zeit in schönen Landschaften und belebten, interessanten Städten zu verbringen, und mit Workaway möchte ich beide erfahren.

Hi, I'm Elisabeth from Glasgow, Scotland.

At present I am concentrating on travelling to German-speaking countries. I am studying German with a view to becoming a translator, so I would like to immerse myself in the language as much as possible.

I enjoy being in nature, and like walking and swimming. I also love animals. I sew and paint when I can, and I sing in a chamber choir. I have also done a lot of amateur theatre. I like to spend time both in beautiful countryside and busy, interesting cities, and I hope to experience both with Workaway.

Mein letzter Workawayaufenthalt im September 2026 war auf einem kleinen Landbesitz in der Steiermark, Österreich, wo ich als Obstpflückerin und Gärtnerin gearbeitet habe. Früher im Herbst 2024 war ich auf einem Bauernhof und einer Reitschule im Südwesten Deutschlands. Da haben wir meistens Ställe ausgemistet, Heu an die Pferde verfüttert und auch andere Aufgaben auf dem Hof erledigt. Beide Aufenthalte haben mir viel Spaß gemacht. Früher hatte ich freiwillig an Renaturierungsprojekten in den Bergen von Nordwestschottland teilgenommen, und auch an Waldzugangsprojekten in Glasgow. Diese beinhalteten das Anpflanzen der heimischen Bäume, das Zubereiten des Essens, Gruppenspiele für draußen, und das Basteln von Kunsthandwerk aus Naturmaterialien.

Ich habe auch in Hotelrestaurants und -küchen gearbeitet, also bin ich gewohnt, vor, während und nach der Mahlzeit einen großen Bereich sauber zu machen!

Als Hobby nähe ich, und habe Taschen und einfache Kleider genäht. Ich flicke gern, je nach Bedarf.

My last Workaway stay in September 2026 was on a smallholding in Styria, Austria, where I did fruit-picking and gardening. Before that, in autumn 2024, I worked on a farm and riding school in south-west Germany, where we mainly mucked out the stables, as well as feeding the horses their hay and doing other jobs around the farm. I very much enjoyed both stays. I have previously volunteered in rewilding projects in the Scottish Highlands and forest access projects in Glasgow. This involved tree planting, cooking for the group, outdoor games and making art from natural materials.

I have also worked in hotel restaurants and kitchens, and so am accustomed to large scale cleaning before, during and after a meal!

I sew regularly as a hobby and have made bags and simple clothing items. I am happy to do any mending that is needed.
