Description
I am an environmental educator with experience in farming, teaching at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and food justice/ culinary education. I love working outside, cooking delicious meals (with produce I have helped grow is a plus!) and dabbling in fiber arts. I love to move, dance, hike, play guitar, and want to see more of the world while I am at it!

More details about your skills
I have farming and gardening experience from working over two seasons at the Bard College Farm and Community Garden, on over an acre of land. At the Bard Farm I oversaw produce and herb beds, weeded, harvested, planted, and helped with maintenance projects. I also used creative skills in printmaking to design merchandise for the farm, compose flower bouquets, and lead workshops in natural plant dying and printing.
I currently work as an environmental educator the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, where I teach exploration workshops and guided walking tours to students visiting the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, covering topics including but not limited to botany, local ecology and ecosystems, ethnobotany, and agriculture.
I also have culinary experience as a Chef Educator at The Sylvia Center, a Bronx NY based non-profit where I develop lesson plans and teach hands-on cooking classes to public school students across all boroughs, expanding access to culinary education and nutritious whole-foods.
I am passionate about combining my environmental studies degree with community oriented education. I am excited to spend more time outdoors, reconnect with my love for farming, and hopefully cook some delicious meals in community through a Workaway opportunity! -
