Activities we are interested in:
My husband and I have worked together in hostels for the last two Christmases in the reception, welcoming guests in Banos, Ecuador and KL,Malaysia. Also in Ecuador we taught conversational English.
Our next destination:
Provincia de La Altagracia, Dominican Republic - from Dec 2025 until Mar 2026 View allDescription
Travelling to and seeing new places and things makes me happy. I like studying and learning when holidaying in other countries. I would be content from picking fruit to teaching English in nice warm settings. Happy to try and eat all different cuisines. I do enjoy cooking and baking. What motivates me the most is being around fellow travellers and listening to their stories.

My name is Donna. I have been a teacher in Calgary, Canada for many years and still do part time. I can tutor math at all grade levels. I went to Xiamen, China for 10 weeks teaching English this was a volunteer position (Theme: Bring Canada to China). My husband Wallace and I were Vaughan town volunteers. This program is in Spain, English speaking volunteers meet together with Spanish paying clients to learn English for 8 hours a day. Would highly recommend!

Wallace and I volunteered as rangers in Manual Antonio National Park, Costa Rica for one month: Help with ticket sales, beach clean up and talking to tourists about the regulations. In 1988 I volunteered with the Calgary winter Olympics. My position was working at the ski-hill.
We have travelled a lot, to around 45 countries, lived in Malta and Portugal. The last 5 winters my husband and I have visited in Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina, Panama, Malaysia, Perth, and Tokyo. When in Latin America, studying Spanish. We are both in our 60's. My husband had a stroke 8 years ago and still has paralysis in his left arm and leg, but gets around very well with a cane. He is a red seal mechanic with 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. We are both interested in teaching English to adults, and other social hospitality roles.Age
