Hi, I'm Claire and I'm travelling with my lovely 15 year old daughter, Bethan.

I travelled a fair bit when I was younger and l'm passionate about teaching Beth the value of seeing different places and cultures and meeting people with different world views and experiences. I want her to see that she doesn't need to follow the 'normal' route (school, uni, job..), that she can forge her own way in life and that happiness comes in many forms. I love the idea of introducing her to workaways where she can maybe experience a simpler life or a different perspective and do some good honest work in exchange for food and/or accommodation. What a wonderful mind shift from today's focus on money, consumption, screens, etc.

We both love animals and being in nature. Bethan wants to be a vet or work with animals in later life. I'm a keen gardener & keep fit doing Pilates, aqua-aerobics, playing golf and, more recently, learning to ride. Bethan also rides and is more accomplished than me. She teaches swimming to primary school kids on Saturday mornings and loves to read.

We're both hard working, flexible, respectful and enthusiastic.

More details about your skills

Bethan and I have some experience with animals (dogs, horses etc) and I love gardening. Although we do not bring any specific skills, we are both willing to learn and have a good work ethic. I am reasonably practical and, although I can't re-wire or re-plumb your house (!?), we can paint, clean, prep etc. We are willing to have a go at almost anything and believe that, with clear instructions, we could be reasonably good at most common tasks.
