Description
I'm David, I'm 25 years old, and I'm originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I've also lived in Boston and Phoenix, and I've been able to travel all over the US and many beautiful places in Europe like: Prague, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Barcelona during my time studying abroad in London.
I've realized the meaning of my life is to just experience and learn as much as I can! And what better way to experience different cultures, places, people, and activities than with WorkAway.Interests

More details about your skills
I graduated from Boston University with a degree in Finance and Accounting.
However, I've realized working with my hands is much more rewarding than sitting in an office all day
I think my ability to learn quickly is my biggest asset as a Workawayer. I also take pride in my work and never cut corners in whatever I do.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During my first Workaway experience in Canada (3 months), I did many things:
Wrangling: Caught and tacked horses for guests; lead pack horses through rugged mountain terrain; packed horses for 5-day trips.
Logging: used a chainsaw to fall trees; cut logs with a processor for firewood; used a sawmill, edger, and planer to make 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, etc; and lots of splitting firewood
Trail Clearing: Cleared over 50 miles of trails during my stay; hiked 10 hour days through the mountains with chainsaw
Fencing: Fixed various fences around the property; cut and peeled rails for fences
Carpentry: Built a staircase, decorative wall, fence gates, and saddle stands. Assisted with bigger projects like wood sheds.
Haying: Assisted with swathing, raking, and bailing hay.
Hosting guests: Cleaned guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas each week; Assisted with cooking meals for guests; Socialized with guests throughout their packing trips
Various other things: (beginner) welding, roofing, mowing lawns, harvesting from greenhouse, etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During my second Workaway in Norway, I learned how to care for goats, chickens, rabbits, and turkeys, and assisted with various projects on the farm such as fixing fences and building chicken coops. I also processed moose and goats.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am also very experienced in providing care to people in need. Most of my summers as a teenager, I would volunteer at a summer camp for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. I would provide 1 on 1, 24/7 care to an individual with special needs. This included feeding, dressing, bathing, and just being a companion. This experience showed me how much value I see in giving back to those in need, and I hope to continue this during my travels in any way I can.Age

What else ...
I played ice hockey at Boston University, I surf, I hike, I play pickle ball and tennis, I golf, and I do pretty much anything else that involves being outside and exercising!
I'm very interested in learning about animal care, farm/ranch living, and just learning as many new skills as I can. Some more information
