  • Description

hello! We are a small family, who just want to be together as much as humanly possible. We find ourselves apart for the majority of the day, we are trying to think outside of the box for ways to integrate our lives - and we have always dreamed of traveling together, so here we are! We are very motivated by our children. We long to provide them with a life full of cultural diversity, connection with each other and nature, love and joy and the inherent goodness of humanity. Gracie is a birth doula so holding space for women going through the birthing portal is what lights her up. Sam is an artist (if you would like to see more sample of his work please visit this link: http://www.sojourn-arts.com/blog/2020/10/26/life-as-given-sam-cooney ) and creating brings him so much joy and fulfillment. We dream of having a homestead one day and want to learn all we can about sustainability from others during this season of life and are visiting Europe first, but with hopes to explore more of the world by and by!

so far in our workawway experience, we've done, building, carpentry projects, cooking, house sitting, childcare, and gardening. We have loved all of it. 🫶🏻

Sam is a skilled carpenter, fast learner, and is very strong. he is a potter and painter-He has an Art degree. he has been building houses since he was 17. He is a wonderful father.
Gracie is a gardener, Birth and postpartum Doula, florist. She is with her two children 95% of the time and is a very nurturing mother. Gracie worked and lived on an organic farm in her early 20's for two years. She would be so excited at the prospect of supporting any births possible while we are traveling so reach out if you are looking for birth support. she also has lots of experience with Waldorf style education and is a second generation unschooler.

We have two small children with us which must of course be taken into consideration. They are both under 5 and are extremely flexible and well attached. We are all used to working together. Their safety and well being is very important to us, and we take full responsibility of that.

  • What else ...

We are more the type of people who like to settle into one spot and stay connected. We love working on projects together and don't like to be split up very often. We really appreciate clear expectations and boundaries being expressed ahead of time. We are not smokers, and drink minimally. However we do drink a lot of coffee and or black tea. 😆
