  • Description

    Hello!
This is my first time using Workaway, and I’m really excited to embark on this adventure.
I’m from France, from a small rural village perched on top of a mountain. I grew up surrounded by nature, which naturally gave me a love for hiking, the outdoors, and working outside. I love being active, discovering new places, and enjoying the simple things in life.
I’d describe myself as curious, determined, and pretty adventurous, though I also appreciate quieter, more contemplative moments. I love learning new things, discovering how others live, and stepping outside my comfort zone. When it’s time to work, I’m serious and not afraid to roll up my sleeves. I’m not particularly afraid of hard work!
I’m coming to New Zealand to explore its landscapes, culture, and way of life, but also to discover myself. I want to take the time to experience something different, meet people I might never have met otherwise, and see a little more of the world.
For me, Workaway is exactly the kind of wonderful way to travel. I think it’s great to be able to spend a few days or weeks with locals, be part of their daily lives, lend a hand, and, at the same time, learn from their way of life. I think this kind of experience lets you discover a country in a much more authentic way than if you were just passing through.

More details about my language interests
I'm very comfortable with French, both in writing and speaking, and I'd love to teach it or simply practice with someone who wants to improve their skills. I understand English well, even though I'm still a little shy about speaking it. In fact, I hope to use this trip as an opportunity to improve and gain more confidence in speaking!

  • More details about your skills

I’m a jack-of-all-trades and, above all, very curious. I love learning, discovering new things, and getting my hands dirty!
I studied administration and communications. I then worked at an administrative firm as well as at a communications agency specializing in the construction industry. I’ve also had the opportunity to organize several events, which taught me to be organized, self-reliant, and able to adapt easily to the unexpected.
I’m very comfortable with French, both in writing and speaking, and I’d love to teach it or simply practice with someone who wants to improve their skills. I understand English well, even though I’m still a little shy about speaking it. In fact, I hope to use this trip as an opportunity to improve and gain more confidence in speaking!
I also really enjoy manual labor and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. In particular, I’ve helped renovate two apartments: running cables, installing drywall and tracks, putting in outlets, and assembling a kitchen… I don’t claim to be an expert, but I love learning and I’m always willing to help out and improve my skills.
I also enjoy gardening. I’ve helped with planting, watering, harvesting potatoes, and even trimming beans. I especially enjoy working outdoors and seeing the tangible results of my efforts.
I’ve also had various experiences working with others. I’ve babysat and provided companionship to older adults. I enjoy taking the time to talk, help, and share a little bit of everyday life.
When it comes to cooking, I’m able to take care of myself since I’ve been living on my own since I was 18. So I know how to cook, clean, and handle small daily tasks. And I especially love baking!
I’ve also participated in various sports over the years: horseback riding, dancing, running, hiking, skiing, gymnastics… I love being active and discovering new activities.
Overall, I’d say my main strengths are my ability to fend for myself and my eagerness to learn. I don’t necessarily know how to do everything, but I’m determined, reliable, and I love taking on new challenges. If you have something to teach me, I’d be thrilled to give it a try!
