I am a life long traveler but new to Workaway! After a few years back home in Canada, I am ready to explore the world again and want to share my experience, expertise and passion with others.
Professionally, I have Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies (Study of cities), love geography, history and global affairs. I have worked in hotels, hospitality/travel as a tour guide and front desk hotel agent. I have also worked in non-profits/NGOs. My plan for this year is to travel and volunteer with some workaways and possibly find an English teaching job later on.
I am pretty open minded and driven to learn how to do things differently. I have much to learn and I hope that workaway can give me the experiences and opportunities to expand my world view and skill set. I am still searching for my 'place in the world' which perhaps is naive but you have to start somewhere right?
-Since I have experience in hotels I could be helpful to someone running an accommodation doing everything from the admin to customer service or cleaning.
-I have done landscaping and would love to try doing more outdoor work and DYI although my experience is limited.
-I am good at relating to and understanding people which I used working with the homeless and addicted population in my hometown.
- am a pretty good writer and I have worked as an academic research assistant, so I could help with marketing, teaching or editing things in English.
- I'm always flexible and willing to learn!
