Description
Hi! We’re Ambre & Ben – two nature enthusiasts with a passion for adventure, travel, and making meaningful connections.
We met while working together during a tree planting season in Canada back in 2022. Since then, our shared love for the outdoors has taken us on incredible journeys across Canada, Central America, France and South Africa. Whether we’re exploring a new forest, hiking a remote trail, or learning about sustainable practices, we’re always eager to embrace new experiences that bring us closer to nature. We are professional tree planters with 4 seasons experience and are coming to Australia to plant. Our first contract starts on the 1st of June in Albury, NSW.
Ben
I was born in Cape Town, but have lived in British Columbia, Canada for the past 6 years. I am a young free spirit who is looking for happiness in the pursuit, rather than the pursuit of happiness. I am interested in permaculture and communal living. It is my dream to live in harmony with nature and around like-minded people who love and want the best for each other.
My passion is regenerative agriculture and soil microbiology. I have a wide range of skills and experience from working on farms and ranches. I enjoy farming in a way that mimics mother natures intelligence, to make more efficient farms. Besides forestry and agriculture I have also worked in construction doing carpentry and concrete.
Ambre
I'm 26 years old, originally from France and now living in Canada for the last 5 years. I’ve always felt most at home outdoors, and that connection to nature is at the heart of who I am. Growing up on a farm, I developed a strong work ethic, a love for hands-on tasks, and an appreciation for the cycles of nature. I thrive in environments where I can be active, whether it's planting trees, being creative, gardening, working with animals ,...
I’m curious by nature and always eager to learn. I’m the type of person who enjoys picking up new skills. I’m driven and always look for ways to challenge myself, whether that’s through physical tasks, personal growth, or stepping into new environments that push me out of my comfort zone.
I value meaningful connections with others. I’m a people person who finds joy in sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and collaborating on projects.
When I’m not outdoors, you’ll often find me practicing yoga, reading, doing crochet or writing. I’m a believer in the importance of staying curious, staying connected, and continuing to grow, both personally and professionally.
Together, we make a dynamic team, ready to lend our hands, hearts, and minds to projects that promote sustainability, community, and environmental well-being. We value hard work, collaboration, and the opportunity to grow, and we can’t wait to join new Workaway projects that will allow us to contribute, learn, and immerse ourselves in local cultures and landscapes. -

Ambre
Since I was 14, I’ve been involved in various work experiences, including a year spent working full-time on my dad’s cattle farm, where I gained valuable hands-on experience and developed strong adaptability. In 2022, I completed my studies in Biology-Ecology in Quebec, which led to roles as a biological inventory technician and a naturalist guide at a National Park. Additionally, I’ve worked with children in summer camps and as an animator in nature-focused programs.
I took a short woodworking course in 2022, and the last three summers I worked as a tree planter.
Additionally, I co-produced a documentary about surfing and the environment, which allowed me to develop new skills in video editing and social media communication. -
