Java, Indonesia - from Aug 2025 until Sep 2025 View allDescription
Writing a description of myself is always a little difficult but a great challenge. The main driver behind my trip to Indonesia is that I'm sort of stuck in my personal development and therefore, want to try new things and become more independent. I think I can achieve this by traveling alone. Since I've already traveled to some awesome countries and love adventures, I know how valuable it would be for me to spend some time in Indonesia, since I don't know much about the culture, the people, and the life there of the country and Asia in general. I specifically decided to visit Indonesia because many parts aren't yet as touristy as other asian countries. And therefore, I think that Java would be a perfect setting for my time as a volunteer since it is not as remote as some other islands but also not as touristy as for instance Bali. Those are the main motives for visiting Indonesia, and especially Java, but I'll now write a little bit more about myself.
I'm currently in university in Germany to become a teacher for the subjects Geography and English at a secondary school. I just love English as a language and all the cultures of the Anglo-Saxon countries. Geography is also just an incredible subject as you learn so much about the world, the people, and the interconnected nature of everything. The main objective of me becoming a teacher, though, is that I love helping and teaching children and teenagers. In general working and interacting with other people is an incredibly rewarding thing to do and brings me a lot happiness. That's also why I love traveling as you always get to know new people with different backgrounds, ideas, and beliefs. Additionally, I also enjoy creative things like playing the piano and photography. On top of that, I'm a big fan of basically all different kinds of sport. I regularly work out, go running, cycling, and hiking, and play sports like soccer and basketball.
I hope that gives you a first impression of me.

I started learning different languages in schools and actually was not that successful in it until I hit a turning point - well at least that counts for english, as both latin and french were never my strength. When I was 15, I took part in an exchange program with a high school in the USA. Because of this experience, I fell in love with English and, therefore, also had the motivation to always get better. After I graduated school, I continued with improving my English until I decided to make the language part of my job as a future english teacher. And now I can say that my English is at a very good level, but I still want to improve and my final goal is to basically speak English perfectly.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
My expertise would certainly be in teaching, especially english, which I'm certainly fluent in. I'm not completely finished with my course of studies but by the time I would be in Indonesia, I will very likely have my Bachelor's degree in teaching. During my time in university, I had many opportunities to gain experiences in school by observing lessons from other teachers and also by already teaching myself. Outside of university, I'm also working at a different school for already 4 years now as a tutor for students, who have difficulties in certain subjects.
Aside from my experiences with teaching and helping children, I also worked a couple of weeks for a handyman, who was an allrounder for renovations due in houses, like carpentry work, tiling, and also gardening. On top of that I gained some more work experience as a shop assistant for roughly half a year. There, I had to work in a team of around 10 people, so it was always necessary to get along with everyone. That is what I actually liked the most about this job, as I love working in a team ever since I started playing soccer in our town as a little boy.
I also am able to work well with computers as I needed to learn that skill since I love photography. I mainly able to edit photos, but also shot and edited some videos already.Age

What else ...
I already wrote about most of the important things about me. Maybe something still interesting about me is that I like reading a lot, especially books about self-improving and discipline.
