I grew up on a farm, and my first work was in farming, then I worked several years in construction. I have also spent four summers as a camp counselor, and ten years as counselor for teens in crises. For most of the last twenty-five years I worked in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields. For the latter half of that career, I was in sales and mostly sold residential solar systems. With my last company there were only five of us at the start, and I was the only sales-person. When I left ten years later there were forty-five employees.
I have written a novel, and I worked for a few years as a figurative bronze sculptor with a style similar to baroque.

I love all the arts, geography, history, philosophy, religion, politics, and I love the sciences (particularly physics, biology, geology, and astronomy)

At university I majored in physics and philosophy, and my central passion is ethical philosophy. I am currently writing two more books on that topic. I have raised two fine sons, and was married for 28 years.
