Hi! I’m Barney, I'm originally from London, currently two months into travelling full-time and loving the mix of new places, people, and ways of living. I am empathetic, active and have a real passion for sports and education.

Back home, I spent the past few years working in roles focused on community impact, sustainability, project management, and partnerships. My work has always centred around helping organisations create positive social change, coordinating people from different backgrounds, and keeping complex projects running smoothly. Since completing my degree in sociology and social policy my experience has been in facilitating positive environmental social impact from behind a desk in the UK, now I want to live and breathe it connecting with projects doing meaningful work on the ground.

I’m curious about new cultures and different ways of living, and I’m always keen to throw myself into whatever’s needed. My experience in start-ups and non-profits has given me a broad, adaptable skillset and taught me the value of being flexible in any environment. I’m happy working with people, helping organise things, or getting stuck into hands-on tasks. I want to contribute to your project, share knowledge and not just pass through.

Most of all, I’m hoping to contribute, learn, and be part of the communities I meet along the way.

What else ...

I love spending time outdoors. Hiking, swimming, exploring nature and discovering quiet spots wherever I travel. Being close to nature is a big part of why I’m travelling and something that keeps me grounded.

I’m also an avid cook and really enjoy sharing meals with people. I like experimenting with different cuisines, cooking for groups, and learning local recipes along the way.

I’m always up for board games, card games, or anything social in the evenings. I’ve played a lot of football, rugby and cricket growing up, and I still love anything active or team-based. I can be very competitive.

I really enjoy good conversation, learning from people with different experiences, and being part of a community whether that’s over food, work, or time spent outdoors.
