What fills my cup with joy? Helping others, making a difference and learning new things. Meeting new people is always fun - I am very curious and ask lots of questions to help me learn and understand people better. There is such a big world out there and so much to experience. Every touchpoint with another helps me learn and grow and become a better, more empathetic person.

As a senior workawayer I want to experience new people and places while sharing the talents I have with them. This is something I have been dreaming about doing in retirement and the time is now. I am a responsible individual who fulfills her promises. When I commit to something it will get done. I am a self-starter who is able to problem solve on my own. My only ask is to have clear communication about expectations so neither the host or I are disappointed.

I am so excited to get started with my workaway experience!

Hello! I am recently retired from a 35+ year career in the insurance industry and I am excited to start my next journey, traveling inside and outside the United States, meeting new people and learning about life in other parts of the world. You hear many folks say – “I am a people person” when really they are not – -well, I truly am! To me, communication is the true key to understanding each other – how can we be better at it? By asking questions to understand and actually listening rather than forming a response while the other person is talking. What better way to expand our understanding of others by meeting and working next to them!

I enjoy traveling and am looking forward to more of it now that I have the time. What do I have to offer?
- Midwest work ethic – when I make a promise, I will get it done to the best of my ability.
- Serving others – growing up in the restaurant business, I learned early on I receive satisfaction lending a hand and helping others.
- With age, comes wisdom, patience and tolerance. It is not about me. It is about all of us in this world!
- I am generally a happy person who likes to smile. And why not? Every day is a blessing!
