  • Description

    Hello everyone :)

Before you continue reading, I'm looking for a one month stay in Malta or Ireland in March 2026.
Also my reply rate appears to be very bad, since I forgot to deactivate my profile for the time, I wasn't looking for a host. However I'm currently very active and try to reply to everyone.

I’m a 24-year-old woman from Germany, currently studying primary school teaching in my 7th semester. Due to my love for the English language, I chose it as one of my main subjects. One requirement (which I actually see as a huge plus) for becoming an English teacher for children is to spend at least three months in an English-speaking country. So here I am, hopefully starting my journey by the end of February 2026.

First of all, I’m not doing this because I have to — I chose English because it gives me the opportunity to travel and expand my knowledge of the English-speaking world. After finishing school in 2020, I completed a voluntary gap year at a health clinic for mothers and their children. This experience confirmed my initial feeling that I truly enjoy working with kids.

After that, I wanted to travel, which led to my first two Workaway experiences. I took care of a 10-month-old baby in Mallorca for a month, which was a very fulfilling (and also new) experience for me. Later in 2022, I spent four months with an amazing family living near Madrid. My work there involved looking after two children (7 and 11 years old) and helping with household chores. It was actually a coincidence that both of my Workaway stays were in Spain — I was very open-minded about the country I wanted to visit and chose hosts (and was chosen by them) who matched what I was looking for.

Afterwards, I started university, and I’ve never regretted choosing my degree. At the moment, I’m also working as a private tutor for children and teenagers from first to tenth grade.

I’m currently looking for a one-month stay in March 2026 (during my semester break and between exams) with a family in Malta or Ireland. I would love to help with childcare again, but I’m also very curious about other tasks, such as animal sitting (since I absolutely love animals), gardening, or taking care of a property. I can also help you with your German if you’re interested.

I would describe myself as an open-minded, friendly person who always has a creative project going on. During my last Workaways, I loved hiking, exploring hidden beaches, and discovering local food spots and cultural specialties. My years at university have taught me to be well-structured and self-organized. I’m reliable and always try my best. Open communication is very important to me, which means I’m always open to feedback. I also appreciate it when people tell me politely if I’m doing something wrong — after all, I consider it a huge sign of trust to let a stranger into your home.

My hobbies include writing, painting, reading, and meeting friends at cafés.

I’d love to stay with a host family that enjoys spending time together, as I see Workaway as a great opportunity to exchange cultures and make friends across countries. If you’ve read all the way through this — thank you!

If you think I might be a good fit for what you’re looking for, please feel free to contact me.
I’m really looking forward to hearing from you!

    Sincerely,
    Antonia

Yes, definitely! As I mentioned above, I’m studying to become an English teacher, and German is one of my main subjects as well. So I’d of course be happy to improve my English skills while teaching you some German if you’d like :)

  • More details about your skills

I've got loads of experience with children, since I've been working with them throughout all the years since I left school. That time included: Working at a wellness clinic for mothers and their children, working as an Aupair (ages: 12 months, 7 years, 12 years) and finally tutoring kids and teenagers from 7 to 16 until now. Throughout that time I've learned how different the needs of children can be. I know how to make responsible choices, how to react to emotional outbursts and arguing. Most importantly I really enjoy engaging with kids.

I have worked in many different side jobs that included a variety of tasks. To name a few: working in an assembly department, selling strawberries in the summer, working at a tax office, and at a cinema. Most of these experiences reassured me about my final career choice, which has nothing to do with them. However, I still feel that these activities helped me become more confident and adaptable.

Furthermore, nature is very important to me. I try to live as sustainably as possible and have a good knowledge of climate protection. That is why I would be very motivated to help with ecological projects. I do not mind getting my hands dirty, and I am able to work outside for several hours. As I already follow a vegan diet, I would love to share my knowledge or learn something new about it.

I have lived alone for the past five years; therefore, I know how to manage a household. I can cook for you, go grocery shopping, clean the house, do some work in the garden, and take care of your pets. I am also flexible regarding any other tasks you may have for me.

I am also very interested in yoga and meditation and have my own experience with both.

I am always willing to learn :)
