Description
Hello! My name is Annell and I'm from the US. I have wanted to travel abroad for as long as I can remember, and what better way than to fully immerse myself in the culture while providing something in return. Japan and South Korea have been some of my top destinations for many years, but my desire is to someday travel all over the globe. I am very passionate about learning other cultures and languages, and nothing would make me happier than for you to share yours with me.
I have a great number of interests and want to experience a lot of things in life - I am willing to try most things at least once! I enjoy wandering and exploring in nature, especially with a camera! While I love spending time together, I also really value my time alone. Finding something to do to occupy myself is usually not a problem for me. I hope to have new experiences and make new friends while staying safe, and I will do my best to make any time I spend with you enjoyable for the both of us! -

English: Fluent
Spanish: Beginner
Japanese: BeginnerMore details about my language interests
I have experience in Spanish and could likely get by in a conversation, but I am best at reading it. I took a full school-year course in Japanese so I understand the basics, but I am still a beginner and it has been a while since I practiced so I am a bit rusty. I would like to increase my vocabulary as well as my grammar and conversational skills. I am also interested in learning Korean and have just recently started practicing. I would be happy to learn any languages though! I am also willing to help others learn English in any way I can! -

More details about your skills
I have prior experience volunteering at a garden and a library, both of which I enjoyed immensely. At the garden I helped with whichever tasks needed to be completed on the grounds. This varied from planting seeds, watering the plants, weeding, sweeping the sidewalks, setting up for weddings, and picking up branches amongst other things. When I arrived I was provided my tasks for the day and an explanation on how to carry them out.
At the library, my tasks usually involved shelving books and pulling books that people put on hold. I also helped clean and disinfect the children's toys when necessary. I enjoyed doing these somewhat repetitive tasks, and I am happy to be shown what to do and then be left alone to do it.
Currently I am working as a host at a restaurant. I help seat guests, run food, and clean tables. For more specific details please contact me directly.
I also have experience house sitting, in which I stayed at someone's house while they were gone and watched their cat and dog. Along with that, I sometimes babysit my little brother, play with him, and help him with his homework.
While I may be a little shy at first, I am fairly friendly and outgoing, and I will always do my best at whatever task has been set out for me. I don't like to do things halfway, I much prefer to see them through to the end. A couple of my hobbies include model kits and diamond paintings (see my photo album!), which are projects that can take a few months to complete but are incredibly rewarding to finish. Aside from that, I am decent at cooking and baking, and I really enjoy trying new recipes - especially tasting them! I played the tuba in my school’s band for about 5 years, and while I don’t play currently, if you hand me a tuba now I could probably still play! I don't know how skilled I am at it, but I love playing traditional Japanese mahjong and would love to get better at it. Anything that I don't have experience or knowledge with, I am happy to learn with a little guidance. -

What else ...
I have a little brother who’s 10, and my family has had lots of pets. Currently we have two dogs, a cat, and a gecko!
My interests are nearly limitless! I enjoy cooking, baking, doing puzzles, playing board games, listening to music, singing, dancing, knitting, photography, gardening, reading, and eating, amongst many other things. I also like visiting museums, going on walks, and having picnics! I'm open to trying new things, but I also really value comfort, so I'll never be mad about a cozy night in. Another thing I value is privacy, both mine and yours. If I'm living with you, I will do my best to respect your space, and I hope you will feel comfortable enough to tell me any boundaries you may have.
It's been my dream to travel abroad for so long. To anyone who chooses to host me: thank you for making that dream come true! -
