  • Description

    ANDREW
I have a passion for the natural world and experience of delivering eco projects, and would like to apply my skills in a different country and for the benefit of a local community. I enjoy working as part of a team and am fairly practical so can turn my hand to most things that need doing.

    Details
From England, married to Dorte, with two adult children. Resident in London, lived in New York, Chicago and Madrid, and have travelled widely for work and pleasure. Stopped work a year ago after a successful corporate career. Active supporter and volunteer for numerous nature conservation organisations, with skills in habitat management, species conservation, bird and butterfly surveying. Have a Post Grad diploma in Ecology & Conservation.

    DORTE
I love cooking and baking with fresh ingredients, and take pride in combining what happens to be available, in order to produce tasty food without waste. I enjoyed bringing up our own two children, and helping at the local school, and would be happy to play with and help look after children, and help with home schooling, if required. I also love animals, and have experience with looking after dogs, cats and horses.

Now that the kids have grown up, I am keen to travel and experience alternative ways of living and what makes other people happy. I really want to get engrossed in local life as a participant, rather than simply as a spectator, and I am looking forward to helping out with whatever is needed.

    Details:
Originally from Denmark, I have lived in England for 30 years, as well as in Paris, New York, Chicago and Madrid. Voluntary work has been important for many years, primarily for the childrens' school and as Chair of the Danish Church in London. For the Danish Church, I led the team that planned a much needed renovation project, fundraised the required £3 Million, and managed the project throughout the building process.

    ANDREW
Through a successful corporate career and many years of volunteering I have extensive experience of working in and leading teams, and how to communicate with and influence others towards achieving shared objectives. I have excellent analytical and organisational skills and a strong track record of delivering on my commitments. My experience of volunteering for nature conservation charities (NGOs) has enabled me to develop practical skills in habitat management (coppicing, scrub management, dead hedging, boardwalk construction etc.), bird identification and surveying, butterfly identification and surveying, and developing conservation management plans for protected sites. I am an active "DIY-er" and can turn my hand to most practical tasks.

    DORTE
Over the years, I have been involved in a string of voluntary community projects, and seen that enthusiasm and perseverance pays off. Leading a team of volunteers and professionals, I spent years negotiating and finding solutions to challenges along the way, including financial constraints and corona restrictions.

As Chair of the Danish Church I dealt with people in many different contexts, from royalty to prison inmates, and learnt to be loyal and inclusive, flexible and constructive. And to keep going, and stay positive.

For years, I taught Danish language to children, and I helped out at our children’s school both as Parent Governor and as a a practical helper in the classroom and on school trips.

I spend a lot of time cooking and baking, and really enjoy the challenge of making tasty meals out of what is to hand.
