  • Description

    Hi! I’m Ada :)
I grew up on a small holding renovation project in England, where we practiced permaculture values in the house renovation, garden and ten acres of native woodland around us.
We had many volunteers stay with our family when I was growing up, a huge cultural sharing and experience for my family and me as a child.
This summer I would like to give some of that experience back, by spending time on other peoples projects and in their lives.

Through the project I grew up on, and later independently, I have had experience with building work, (from digging ditches to mixing plaster, to moving stones, just anything that needed doing); as well as gardening, tree planting, practical sustainability work and permaculture practices. I have a strong productive attitude and a good understanding of physical work, combined with practical skills, some experience, and a willingness to listen and learn that I hope could help with your project. (I can’t seem to find many pictures of me building or gardening more recently, I was maybe too busy doing it! But enjoy some of the work I’ve helped create)

Living in community in this way, gave me a strong understanding of life within a family unit, or larger volunteer group. This means I can help around the house, keeping the community space an environment we'd all want to live and work in.
I've grown up vegetarian, so can contribute well practiced vegetarian cooking to family meals.

I’m a traditional or ‘folk’ musician, and am beginning my journey pursuing music professionally, working locally, performing independently and in a band; so would love to share my music with you, experience yours if you have any to share, and maybe 'busk' (street performance) in your area, playing fiddle and singing, among other things.

During my childhood I had allot of involvement in outdoor play and learning, as a key member of local forest schools, I developed an interest and understanding of immersive nature based play as a way of developing skills, both practical and more academic. For example learning languages by practicing the names and ways to talk about the things you find around you, or developing art and creative skills by using colours and textures found in the natural space and turning them into a piece of art (like Andy Goldsworthy).
More recently I've moved away from learning in this way myself, and have spent allot of time supporting younger children in learning and outdoor play.

English is my first language, and I have some primitive Spanish skills, as I studied at school level, but I’m a fast learner and would love to improve what skills I have in my time with you.
I would be happy to help out children with English skills and/or music, through play, adventure and immersive learning, as I’m sure we can learn allot from each other!

    Can’t wait to meet you.
    Ada :)
