It was absolutely wonderful to have Dezi stay with us, she was a delight to have around, so easy to talk to and told us about her country and culture. Dezi showed a lot of initiative and gave attention to detail to complete all the tasks asked of her. We enjoyed exploring the local areas, seeing the Aussie wildlife, going for walks and listening to music as we spent time together also some live local music. We highly recommend Dezi as a Workawayer. Dezi left us as a friend who we want to keep in contact with and learn about her future travels in Australia and other countries. We wish Dezi safe travels and great hosts to stay with. Dezi is just the best.

Judy has been the most gracious and welcoming host we have experienced so far. She picked us up at a time when we truly needed it, and arriving during one of the harshest parts of winter made her kindness mean even more. We’re incredibly grateful that she took us in. We absolutely loved our stay - especially having the company of her ten wonderful horses, which made the experience even more special. We always felt well looked after, and whenever we needed anything, Judy was there without hesitation. We were provided with a cosy cabin with electricity and basic amenities. It had everything we needed and was perfectly comfortable and warm - especially if you enjoy a simple, rustic style of living, a challenge ofcourse which we absolutely loved! We only wish we could have stayed longer. We never had the opportunity to go for a ride due to the cold winter weather. However, that just gives us a wonderful reason to come back and experience it properly next time. We would truly love to return and make the most of everything this special place has to offer. Thank you again Judy, and hopefully we will see you next year! 💚

I had a lovely time staying with Charlotte! All of her animals are really sweet - the dogs, Ellie and Teo, and also the horses, Atro and Willy. I really liked the farm where the horses are staying, too - they have goats, sheep, chickens, two adorable cats etc. There is a lot of things to do and around Cama and it's really great that you basically have your own car staying with Charlotte, which gives you a lot of flexibility. Charlotte was really supportive and always had good advice on possible activities or a kind word when needed. I came to have a break from my normal everyday life and spend some time with animals and in nature and that's exactly what I got. I miss everything already.

Barbara and Aldo are a very Italian couple, and they live in a very Italian house near Brianza, an area full of beautiful places, important figures and landscapes that sometimes feel like something out of a fairytale. It’s a setting that really gives you a sense of everyday Italian life. Communication is easy because everyone speaks English well, and at the same time they’re happy to practise Italian with you if that’s something you’re looking for. Viola, their dog, is very calm and gently enjoying her retirement years. The village itself is small and quiet, but you won’t feel isolated. Everything you need is within walking distance, from supermarkets to small local businesses and even the practical bureaucracy things. At first, it might seem like there aren’t many young people around, but they are there. Once you get to know the area a bit better, you can build a surprisingly lively social life. I ended up making more than 50 new friends nearby and was invited out most weekends. Life in the house is not exhausting, though you are expected to be available during the day in case help is needed, especially with driving. They usually leave their Panda for you to use, which makes things easier. Cooking is part of the routine as well, not every day and not in a rigid way, but as often as you reasonably can. Barbara is the main person you’ll coordinate with. She’s very present and approachable, so most decisions and day-to-day matters go through her. Aldo travels quite a lot, but when he is home he brings a lot of energy. He often suggests small chores or food ideas and is always curious, well informed and up to date with the news. The kids are currently transitioning into adult life, so they are generally busy studying or out of the house. Food is an important part of the experience. They eat very well, healthy, organic and balanced meals, and I genuinely felt thinner and healthier while living there. During the day, you’ll probably spend a good amount of time with Viola. The room they offer comes with a private bathroom and is honestly the size of a big city flat, so you have a high level of privacy. Overall, I had a really good time there. I became friends with neighbours and shop owners, met their family friends, all very kind people, and spent a wonderful Christmas with them, which reminds me of the grandmother who I enjoyed the presence very much. Important information in my opinion: there is a bus every hour from monday to saturday passing by the house that takes you to Como and Bergamo directly, if you can choose, I would suggest arriving at Bergamo airport, so you get one bus from the airport of bergamo to bergamo autostazione and then the bus 146 leaves you 200m from their house. It is easy to go spend the day in Como or Bergamo and come back at night. Train station kinda requires you to find a ride back and forth. If you are Brazilian too, the bus passes by La Coxineria, in Ponte San Pietro, with brazilian meals everyday, Feijoada on wednesdays. I would recommend this opportunity to anyone, especially if you’re not looking for a more traditional Workaway experience with large groups on farms or big shared projects, and you’d prefer some free time to study or work in a quiet and private space while experiencing real Italian life. I will probably be around visiting Imbersago for the rest of my life.

My stay at Marc and Maria’s chateau was delightful! Although I never actually met them as they were out of the country, they were kind enough to still accept and accommodate my stay. I spent only 2 short weeks with another experienced workawayer Roy, who was a great host and teacher. The work there is varied and depending on the time of year and the current jobs, you could be doing anything related to work on a country estate. There are always projects on the go. I spent most of the time collecting leaves, tidying up the drive, driving the tractor and trailer around, chainsawing, tree pruning and assisting Roy with the installation of a water reservoir. We always had plenty of food of our choice, firewood to keep us warm, time and space to relax and a car to get us around. The village and wider area is beautiful and there is tons to explore especially if you like hiking and discovering small villages. I also had a nice time with some other's who lived in the village, having dinner together and everyone there is so friendly! There is really an expat community in the area but if you're determined to learn/improve your French it's definitely possible. I imagine it will be beautiful there in summer and there’s a pool at the chateau. Thank you so much I had a great time! Tyler

Matt was a pleasure to host. He is always positive and smiling, very respectful of both the place and the people around him. He completed all the tasks we asked of him conscientiously and with a great attitude. We also had many interesting conversations together. He is curious, funny (once the ice is broken;-), intelligent, and has a genuinely different perspective on the world, which made the exchange even more enriching. Lita and myself highly recommend Matt to any future host.

I spent an amazing 1 month and a half volunteering in Sandra's animal sanctuary. It felt very rewarding to work for the animals there and see that they are happy, healthy and well taken care of. Some may find the work a bit heavy (it's a very physical kind of work) but It was ok for me and the tasks were easy. The accommodation was very comfortable, in a big house with people from different countries so I enjoyed the cultural exchange as well.

We stayed with Spyros for 2 weeks and had an unforgettable experience. The monastery is surrounded by an absolutely beautiful landscape with (very hikeable) mountains and the river close by, creating a very peaceful atmosphere. Spyros is very kind and welcoming and helped us with everything, going out of his way to get us to the monastery and to give us a way to leave again, which was complicated at that time due to damaged roads. Even during the first rainy week, the house was cozy and felt like home, even though it was a bit cold. The second week was really sunny and we enjoyed every second we spent outside. We had a great time with Spyros and the other Workawayers there, and as soon as the weekend hit with its workshop and retreat, the whole monastery came to life, and we really enjoyed cooking for the guests. Thank you so much for this time we got to spend there! We're really going to miss it, and hopefully, we will return one day. Keep up the great work! And greetings to Charles ;)

Sandra is a wonderful person! She's very kind, understanding and fun to hang out with. She has no problem with hanging out with volunteers, and have a great time. I took care of the doggies and horses, plus some tasks including gardening and cleaning. I really enjoyed it and would definitely do it again. There has been some cases in which some volunteers have stayed around and settled down near by, and I'm sure it has to do with her... Better than I could've anticipated... great place, great person

Absolutelly one of the best workawayers out there! Tidy, communicative, fun and really hard working. Rocco and Mavy are the best you can get. Mavy looked after my 1 year old daughter for hours at a time when i went to university or had work outside and she also worked outside when my kid was asleep, even heavier work. Rocco is also very flexible, can do and will do pretty much anything that needs to be done. They both learn super fast and I had exactly 0 problems with them. They are also very communicative and fun to be around and we played some tabletop games and talked about everything. Rocco is an excellent cook so if you get him the ingreedients he needs you can experience how it is to have a private chef! They are both very clean and tidy and see where work is to be done without them being told. So they deserve 10 stars for everything overall. I would host them for a year if they would want to stay that long. All the best to you both :D

It was lovely to have Julia to stay. She is hard working, good company and worked happily by herself mostly weeding but also looking after the horses, chickens and dog. She did a tremendous job packing away all the books and spare room contents ready for new carpets to be laid and labelled the boxes so it was easy for the newt workawayers to put everything back. We enjoyed learning about Sweden and experiences of growing up in what is a quite different environment to us.

I stayed nearly one month at the campsite, enjoying the nature and learning lots about Malay culture. MD and Riza are great hosts and have created such a welcoming space for both guests and volunteers! I loved the flexibility of the work and the opportunities to be creative, using different materials for art projects and decorations. I also enjoyed looking after the campsite and meeting lots of guests. I saw all sorts of amazing wildlife and tried lots of delicious fruits! I am very grateful to MD, his friends and the neighbours for all the opportunities to experience Malaysia through different traditions, foods and activities. I look forward to coming back in the future- terima kasih!

We stayed only one week with Chris, Ed, and their lovely border collies, and enjoyed every day to the fullest! Their house/property is beautiful, well equipped, with a lot of green space, and nice sunset views. Our tasks were rewarding and varied, from sorting/cleaning garage and cupboards, to mowing the lawns, and spending time with the cute dogs. The communciation prior to our stay was always very clear and well organized, and we enjoyed nice talks on-site. We always got provided with plenty of food and also had sufficient time to explore the close by city. We can only highly recommend this host!

Giti stayed with us for two weeks. Calm and kind, he quickly became our daughter’s favorite right after he arrived! He loves cooking, and every dish he makes is absolutely delicious!! (Future hosts — you should definitely ask him to cook for you.) One day, he prepared a special dinner for everyone. He started preparing the day before and spent the whole day in the kitchen. It was clear how much he enjoys cooking and making people happy through his food. He is also very talented — he plays the piano, practices yoga, and enjoys photography. During his stay, he was the only male volunteer, so he took on many physically demanding tasks. He especially did an amazing job on our road improvement project. It was tough work, but he always worked with a smile and seemed to truly enjoy it. We secretly call the road he helped create “Giti’s Road” (haha). Giti, thank you so much for everything! We hope to see you again someday!

Gern wieder It was wonderful with Jane. She is an intelligent young woman and an excellent cook. We both ate a lot and very well. What was also lovely was that we were able to go riding together — the afternoons on horseback were truly paradise. Elly and Jane completely fell in love, and they both enjoyed the company. She also helped me with vacuuming the house and the car — heartfelt thanks! Gladly again.

Zen was a pleasure to have stay with us here. Very calm and peaceful man who just got on with the tasks asked of him and made friends with all the other volunteers and the staff. I would not hesitate to take him back again if he wants to return in the future and can confidently recommend him to other hosts.

David & Cassandre were a delight to have at the farm. They handled the guiding of visitors through the vineyards perfectly after minimal training (we were busy at the time) and earned many praises in the subsequent reviews. I would not hesitate to have them to stay with us again or to recommend them to other hosts.

I stayed with Clare for two weeks and had a truly wonderful experience. She was an incredibly understanding and supportive host, especially considering I had arrived in Australia just a week before. She really helped me settle in and made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. The work was simple and enjoyable, mostly helping around the house and keeping the garden tidy when needed. It was well balanced and left me plenty of free time to explore and enjoy beautiful . I especially loved spending time with Agnes. We played board games together and shared lovely moments, she is such a sensitive and mature girl, and it was a pleasure getting to know her. It was also so nice to take Pippi for walks, an extremely sweet and funny dog who made every day brighter. I’m truly grateful to Clare for her warm hospitality and for the meaningful conversations we shared about life. I couldn’t have asked for a better first Workaway experience in Australia
