Lo pasé de maravilla en Finca. Gilma y Omar han creado un espacio precioso de paz y reciprocidad al que me sentí muy honrada de contribuir. Cada día era diferente: nuevas tareas, un clima distinto (!), nuevos dichos, o nuevos lugares para explorar. Además de nuevas experiencias, tendrás una rutina diaria que te hará sentir más saludable y con más energía que nunca. En Finca te cuidarán de maravilla. Gilma y Omar son de las personas más pacientes y comprensivas que jamás conocerás. Además de tus responsabilidades, tendrás mucho tiempo para escuchar el increíble canto de los pájaros y acariciar a las cabras (y chismear con Gilma y Omar) :) Recomiendo encarecidamente esta experiencia. Nour stayed with us this winter to help me with the puppies. I found her reliable, trustworthy, and kind and patient with the dogs, so I invited her to come back with her friend Linn to do some house/petsitting. My plans were to travel abroad, but an unforeseen family crisis forced me to stay home. Linn and Nour were very helpful, not only taking care of the dogs, but also cooking family meals and helping out where they could. They were both very supportive during a difficult time, and nice people to have around. In the two weeks they stayed with us, they travelled on multiple day trips with great independence, adjusting to the Flemish lifestyle, hopping on a bike to catch a train and enjoying it.

Anna and Hamish are great people and Grade A workawayers! Always gave their very best and have many skills. Welcome back anytime!

What can I say?? Boris is a true legend and now a very good mate! Such a pleasure to host him and he gave his all. We all miss him here. Come back anytime mate!

It was a real pleasure to host Frankie. She works hard, is very friendly and is very reliable. The local community also really appreciated her kindness and friendship and she made a strong effort to interact with them.

Lili is a workawayer par excellence, organized, self-motivared, straightforward and with very useful skills matching exactly my needs in the house. Especially her work renovating my large table was more than professional. Always in a good mood, so everybody in the house had a great time with her. Thanks for your help!

Matt was a fantastic volunteer! He brought tons of enthusiasm and energy to the hostel and the guests had a fantastic time thanks to him! Matt was super responsible and understood not only his role but the business side of things too! Only sad he couldn't stay longer and would definitely recommend him to any other workaway hosts! Thanks Matt!

Monique' stay here was short, as neither I nor she had more time, but it was enough to get to know her as an ever-active, energetic, busy woman with lots of skills. She repaired a bicycle, even though it was very tricky, prepared very nice meals in no time with only the few ingredients she found in my fridge and cheered everybody up with her positive mindset and beautiful energy.

I spend 2 good weeks at Jean’s. She’s a very kind person and always here if you need something. I really enjoyed helping her around her property, she made delicious meals and her animals are lovely ! If you looking for somewhere to stay, this is a greatest place to be.

Giulia and Enrico are great. They both friendly and enthusiastic. Responsible, respectful and kind. They always ready to help. It was a pleasure to host them. And they made good addition to our team. During them stay they took care of garden. Build the walls for new bungalow, pour concrete on the floor and made some small repairs and construction around. Giulia has a very nice hand writing and she rewrite our black boards. They both was very helpful and nice to our customers and cats.they kept an eye on what needs to be done and did it. Recommend to every host they apply. We hope to see them again.

My time here was overall rewarding. I was able to use my graphic design skills to create labels for the women entrepreneurs prawn pickle jars. I also enjoyed being with the children on site, visiting local villages, chopping vegetables with Ammu and walking Sheero the dog. The team Vinith, Helan, Annutzia & co are brilliant.  A few things worth knowing before you go: a go-with-the-flow attitude is essential. The Tamil language barrier is real - I would recommend learning a few phrases before going. Also, the accommodation is very basic - be prepared as it’s not for everyone! There was one walkable supermarket but to go to Pondicherry you will need to take a bus which can take some figuring out. One thing to bear in mind, whilst the volunteer payment is optional, we learned that Ammu the lovely cook wasn’t being paid and is reliant on these contributions.  It wasn't a flawless experience but it was an enriching one and I'm really glad I went.

My stay with this family was a truly special experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and included not only in the nursery but also in their family. Working at the school was very rewarding and even made me consider pursuing this path. The children are sweet, well-behaved and clearly loved, and it’s easy to see how much dedication and care Tarla and Cy put into creating such a nurturing environment 🥰 One highlight was organizing the pizza-making day at school 🍕 The kids’ enthusiasm made it so fun and rewarding! Beyond volunteering, they were very generous in sharing their culture, food (be ready to try lots of food courts and maybe gain a little weight 🤣) and daily life. Arrietty and Aidan are sweet and funny, so there’s never a dull moment. This experience made me fall even more in love with Malaysia. Thank you for opening your home, nursery and family to me, I will always remember it. Ciao e grazie! ❤️

Marianne joined me when restaining my house was top priority and she did a great job working as part of a team in cutting through that task. She soon proved that she is very quick to pick things up and to follow guidance effectively. I found her to be well organised, thoughtful and with a really helpful attitude. She applied those capabilities to emptying my garage (including a measure of categorising the chaos), followed by filling and sanding alongside Mari and Dara. She has a really constructive attitude to what she does and demonstrated her maturity on many occassions, including with her continuing eagerness to help out in the house. I'm a little sad that I wasn't able to give Marianne more opportunity to get involved in the conservation/restoration side of the project that I think she'd have particularly enjoyed - she just happened to be here at a time when house-related stuff was happening... Thanks for all your help, Marianne - hope you'll come back one day to inspect your little tree :)

We stayed with Elisa Carolina and her family for a little over two weeks, and it was a wonderful experience. Carolina, Oscar, and their three kids welcomed us warmly and even prepared dinner for us on our first night, which made us feel at home right away. They are very friendly, relaxed, and easygoing people, and it was easy to live and work together. During our stay we shared daily life — cooking together and helping with the kids — which made the experience feel very natural and family-like. One weekend, Oscar and Carolina kindly drove us to Tenancingo so we could visit the local fair and market, which was a great cultural experience. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Their project is both a nature reserve and an environmental education initiative located on a beautiful piece of land with a creek running through it. The surroundings are peaceful and full of nature. We appreciated that we could choose a project to work on based on our interests and skills, which made the work enjoyable and meaningful. Overall, it was a very positive and memorable Workaway experience, and we are grateful to have spent time with such a welcoming family.

Having Michelle stay and do the exchange was wonderful, we are so grateful she chose us. Michelle is very cable and clever great fun and kind. She finished all jobs to the highest standard and left all areas very clean and tidy. I recommend Michelle to anyone for any job she chooses to apply for , she is an exceptional person and we would always welcome her back.

To coin one of her favourite words, Dara is a "grand" workaway (that is to say, very good!). Her Irish spirit, humour and energy lit up the house and fitted well with our Kiwi ways. I was really pleased when she decided to stay an extra week, after the initial fortnight of her fun and energetic contributions to the place. She started off tackling a range of exotic pest plants around the property, which she did very proficiently. She then became the enduring mainstay of the team effort to restain my house and it was great that she was able to see that through to completion. She then spent a day or two sanding my garage interior in readiness for painting. She hit all of these jobs with a great attitude and lovely friendly relations with the other women that she largely worked alongside. Billy benefitted from her being his main feeding person (and much attention given) for quite a bit of her stay. All in all, Dara is a really "good sort" and very well suited to being a workawayer. Thanks Dara :)

I invited Camilla exclusively for draw and she was in my house for six months. Above all, she is a truly talented artist with a sense of style and her work is realy wonderful. Camilla is a decent person, intelligent, thoughtful and understanding and I felt comfortable, when she was near. Be hospitable to this cute girl, provide her with comfortable living conditions, good food, and an atmosphere conducive to creative work, and your expectations will be met.

Mari was a pleasure to host. She's highly organised and focused, putting a big effort into all that she does. Her week-long stay coincided with a push to finish staining my house and prepping much of my garage interior for painting and she tackled those tasks with vigour and precision. Mari's passion for exercise and Jamaican Dancehall saw her leading sessions with the other workawayers staying, where her patient teaching skills were very evident. I enjoyed her calm and unobtrusive manner whilst appreciating the interest and engagement that she also brings. And her strength and fitness are impressive. Looking forward to the possibility that you may be back for a day or two during your road trip, Mari. Appreciate all your help :)

I stayed with Rina and her family for 2 months and I had a really good experience. They welcomed me warmly into their home and made me feel like part of the family from the beginning. The children are very cute and full of energy, which made spending time with them enjoyable. I will remember dearly going strawberry picking with the girls 🍓 The teachers at school are also very kind, creating a pleasant environment to work in. Overall, everything went well during my stay, and I appreciated the opportunity to experience daily life with a Japanese family. If I could, I would definitely have stayed longer!

Graziano joined me (and three other workawayers) for just a week but that was plenty of time to appreciate his conscientiousness, friendly nature, and very courteous way of being. He fitted in really well with the others and fully participated in the daily life of the household, injecting a bit of fun along the way. He arrived at a time when restaining my house was the priority task and he contributed steadily to progress and achieved a good finish. I greatly appreciate his part in getting this large task completed. He has a very good command of English, which was a big help during his stay. Thanks for your help and good company, Graziano!
