We had an excellent experience hosting them at our academy. From the beginning, they were incredibly friendly, respectful, and easy to work with. They helped us a lot with speaking activities for our English students, creating a very positive and comfortable environment for everyone. They were always willing to participate, share their language, and support the students during conversations. Our students really enjoyed interacting with them, and it was a great opportunity for authentic English practice. In addition, they were very responsible with the facilities. They took good care of the place, were organized, and always respectful of the academy’s rules and spaces. Beyond their help, they are simply wonderful people — kind, sociable, and very easy to live and work with. We truly appreciated their presence here and would absolutely recommend them to any future host. 10/10 experience. We would happily host them again anytime!

Andrea was such a lovely young man who was an absolute delight to host. As he has said he helped trim the olive trees. Helped with a rather tedious job of filling the cracks in the walls of my sons house. And Helped me around my house both times because the weather was so bad. (Rain, rain and more rain). We found him to be a very personable young man who we would be happy to host again if he were to come back our way.

J'ai aimé la philosophie de travail de Marysianne, qui rend la tâche agréable et plaisante. J'ai aimé mettre du cœur à l'ouvrage pour elle. En plus, elle est super cuisinière et de bon conseils.

What an absolute star Agnes turned out to be. We had a slight, actually quite a bad leak on our roof that we desperately needed to rectify. Agnes pulled out all the stops and got stuck in helping me seal the tiles and walls with waterproofing. A task she did with great care and attention you seriously would have thought she was a professional painter. She also helped me sand down my sons ceiling in his new home. Again she was so careful and attentive and what's more had a smile on her face that brightened up the task no end. She also helped trim olive trees as well as helped me tidy up the house one rainy (actually we had several rainy days). If she ever applies to come to your place. Snatch her up.

Maria, quelle grande voyageuse ! A bientôt Maria. Je passerai te voir sous peu et t'enverrai des nouvelles d'Allemagne encore plus tôt. Bises. Frédéric.

Having Valentina over as a volunteer was great. A really nice and interesting person to have around. She helped out where she could and was very eager to learn. We had loads of interesting conversations and she is always gathering new ideas for art projects. In her free time you probably find her drawing somewhere while observing nature. 🌱🌻🌲🌿 Thank you Valentina 😊

I had a wonderful stay with Lucie and her family! First of all, the house is located in a very peaceful area of Prague 4! You can reach the city center in 30 minutes with the metro and explore the beautiful city of Prague, all while being in a sort of village, with houses with gardens, a small church, a school, a grocery store, etc... Also, I received a wonderfully warm welcome! Everyone is kind and makes you feel comfortable. Lucie even taught us (me and the other volunteer) a few words of Czech, and about history and geography of the Czech Republic! We had a lot of fun cleaning and organizing all the old family memories (over 100 years of kept items), and gardening with Lucie is always a pleasure! You learn so much! Transplanting lettuce, replanting, going out to collect manure... If you love being outdoors, you'll be thrilled! Furthermore, Lucie is very kind and attentive! She always makes sure you're comfortable with the tasks you have to do. Moreover, we had a wonderful time sharing the family life! All the meals we shared, the songs we sang, discovering cartoons, the meal around the campfire, Lucie's choir show… so many wonderful memories! And of course, Šumik's cuddles made the stay 100% better, haha! This little white sweetheart is sure to win your heart! Thanks to Lucie and everyone for these 17 days spent together! Workawayers, don't hesitate to contact her for a volunteering; you won't regret it!

We spent two wonderful weeks with this amazing community, and it was truly a great experience for us. During our stay we mainly helped with the house they recently bought next door and are currently renovating. We had our own room and shared a bathroom. Sometimes we cooked dinner for everyone, other times someone else cooked, and if nobody felt like cooking there was always food in the house, so we were definitely well taken care of! 😋 The area has the industrial vibes of this part of Germany and it really is something unique and stuck with us in an enriching way. You can go for many walks nearby in nature or easily take the bus to explore other places. Supermarkets are close, and whenever we had questions or needed help, they were always there for us. We shared many lovely moments together, like board games evenings, trip to the 2nd hand shop and having grill parties in the garden. They also let us use their sauna outdoor hot tub! These are memories we will always carry with us. ✨ See you again one day! For now Grazie mille 🙏 and we wish you the best of luck with the new house and all the exciting adventures ahead! 🍀

My stay at Rudi’s place was a deep dive into nature. At his land you’re sourrounded by trees and plants. It’s very calm and beautiful. I was staying in a wooden hut all for myself which was amazing. The work was mostly about cutting trees in the forest to create space. But also nice little projects like builung a ‘house’ for a duck that was on the property. We also did a lot of trips to friends of his and he showed me around the area. All in all i really enjoyed my time there, Rudi has lots of knowledge in building and the nature that sourounds him. Thank you again for everything Rudi!

Holala!!!

"Mizu", short name for Mizuho, means "water" in Japanese. In her case, I woud definitely say "sparkling water"! Mizu is full of energy, very open, helpful, enthusiast, a real sunshine in the house, always with a big smile. I would also like to point out her excellent communication skills! She was a great help in the renovation of the attic. I am very grateful and I strongly recommend her! :-)

I stayed 5 weeks at the hostel both as a volunteer and helping to manage the hostel while the manager was away and could've easily stayed much longer. Immediately upon arrival I felt very welcomed and comfortable - the dynamic between all the volunteers felt like a family and it was really easy to communicate and spend time together. We were often cooking together, taking walks around town, going to the river and the miradors, etc. Jericó is a magical little town always with some sort of event going on. Festivals, concerts, etc. Josie is a gem, I was super comfortable working alongside her. We all made so many friends amongst the guests - 9 times out of 10 the guests love the hostel and the town so much that they end up extending their stay again and again which I believe is a testament to just how special it is. Highly recommend :)

It is a great time with Tilly 🇳🇱 and Francesco 🇧🇷 That's why I have decided to stay until the end of June instead of just 2 weeks😄 The meals, the work and resting time are just in perfect balance. We start the day with a fixed breakfast at 8.30🥐🍳☕ Then we’ll go through the tasks. Planting trees & taking care of them, painting houses, moving furnitures, cleaning up...these are just some examples. At 11 AM we have a coffee/ tea break and two times per week some more people are joining 🙃 It is always "gezellig". Tilly's courgette soup is so delicious 😋 This is really an amazing place. Thank you so much🧡

We spontaneously stayed at Moas place for about one week in March 2026 and our time there was wonderful! First of all, her old school building is just such a nice house with so much great space, interesting history and loads of nice little details (even if its not finished yet). Moa has big plans for the house and also the garden and it must be an absolute paradise, when everything is finished:) We worked a lot in the garden, digging and woodchipping, but also inside, removing the old watertanks in the garage. The work was physically demanding, but we always had the possibility to switch tasks to get breaks and the workload was never too much. Normally Moa gave us a good instruction to our tasks, so that we could work on them individually. She was always open for questions and different ideas! Our time at Moas place was really nice and inspiring. There was always great food, many possibilities to recharge but also to meet and get together with other Workawayers. We felt super comfortable and in good company. Moa had great tips for activities in her area, we spent our free days hiking in Söderasens National Park and going to Helsingborg (really nice city!) So Moa, thank you so much for hosting us!:)

Truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I spent a week at Dionny's house and loved every minute of it. From helping Dionny cook fresh ceviche in the kitchen to trecking Lake 513, it was more than I could have asked for. The work is reasonable and the accommodation is great. Overall, highly recommend. Thank you Alan, Dionny, and everyone else I met along the way.❤️

Sarah has all the qualities we look for in a volunteer. She is positive, friendly and helpful. Curious and intressted, knowledgeable and very adaptive. Sarah participated in many different kinds of farm work and local cultural activities, everyone loved having her around.
