UPDATE FOR MARCH 2023
searching for someone that can help with cleaning some big water tanks (1.000lt each/ 1meterx1meter) one a day during 1 week period ;)
Hello! 😊
We are a family of three, Annalisa & Aron (28) and little Nico (5 years old).
Annalisa is Italian and Aron is Swedish.
We live in a little cabin in the middle of the beautiful Swedish forest.
Our only neighbors are the tall birches and pine trees.
We live as close to our roots (and as "debt free" as we can.
We are completely off grid, with a basic electricity system powered by solar panels and running water in the main house coming directly from our well.
We wash ourselves in the sauna, and we use a dry outdoor toilet.
We have a washing machine powered by bike.
The forest around us gifts us a lot of wood, so we can fire our stoves and keep warm as much as we like.
We grow our own vegetables (this year we are thou more focused on building than hardening) and we have chickens.
As said we fixed some solar panels so we have electricity to a certain degree. We can charge phones and powertools, and we have a couple of LED lights.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You can learn how to live off-grid in the typical Scandinavian weather conditions (a bit more challenging than the Mediterranean!) and we can have a lot of fun discovering together new ways to use all that nature has provided us with. Handicrafts, funny buildings, recycling projects, we are up to try out as much as possible!
You can learn to make beautiful colorful cement tiles to use on the floor and you can refine your drawing skills with Aron ;)
We can also play music together (I play guitar and ukulele) and practice different languages.
You can enjoy the company of the little Nico and share his contagious enthusiasm for life.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
WHAT IS OUR PROJECT?
As you can imagine, to live off-grid with a small child it is a lot of work!
We need help in different fields like: general maintenance of the buildings, gardening, childcare, wood chopping, animal care.. You can choose yourself what you feel like contributing with. I strongly believe that we give our best when we are fully engaged in what we do, enjoying ourselves and loving the activity we are in.
So, you are not going to have to do anything you don't feel like doing!
And every personal initiative is very welcomed :)Languages

YOUR ACCOMODATION
You can choose to either stay in the barn (very beautiful wooden barn, quite big, equipped with a stove) and share the space with other workawayers or to stay in a caravan (quite basic but nice!) Or in a tent wherever you like around the property. I have a very spacious 6 people tent or you can bring your own. You are very welcome to build your own camp, with fireplace, outdoor kitchen and so on, if you are into this kind of things!
:)
A tiny house is also available, 4square meters of coziness, with a stove and your own kitchen space.
For the food: I would like for us to eat together in the evenings, and during daytime if I am not working :) but otherwise feel free to use what you find to cook.for yourself ;)
We have plenty of organic dry-foods (as rice, beans, cuscus and so on) and we will have the veggies from the land.
We eat pretty much everything, meat, fish and other animal products included. Not so much dairy as Annalisa is intolerant.
We love dumpsterdiving, if you want you can come with us and try it out. If you wish to NOT eat food salvaged from the dumpster we can of course cook something from the store 🙂
If you are vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free/intollerant to something or whatever else I guess that if you communicate it in advance we can come to some good solution! :)What else ...
WHERE ARE WE?
Although in the middle of nowhere, the location is quite easy to reach.
In fact we are only 20 km away from Stockholm Skavsta, one of the four (!) Airports in the Stockholm's area. It is the one at which all the Ryanair's flights land.
We are about 100km south of Stockholm.
18km from a city called Nyköping.
10km away from the pretty village of Nävekvarn.
4 km from the lake Nävesjön (we live on the border with the natural reserve which includes this beautiful lake)
2,5 km from the sea, if you walk through the forest, otherwise 10 minutes by car.
There are bikes you can borrow for hiking around.
There is so much beautiful nature around here! Natural reserves (like Stendörren) and pretty villages like Trosa and others.. And a few bigger cities also (Stockholm, 1h away and Norrköping also 1h away)
ADDITIONAL INFOS:
It should be obvious but, for the safety of our child and of other workawayers, drugs are not welcome. If you smoke cigarettes, feel free to smoke in your free time in the forest, but we have a drug and smoke-free policy everywhere in our property (including your accomodation), and alcohol (if you drink it) should be consumed only in moderation and not during daytime ;)A little more information
