Description
We are a friendly & helpful couple looking to travel the world and make some memories whilst contributing to local communities and making new friends along the way. Whilst both proactive and capable hard workers, we excel in different areas, and our complementary skills make us a great team. We are both willing to commit to long hours with few breaks, striving to carry out tasks efficiently & with a smile!
Tristan comes from the Seychelles and has a background in conservation, construction and computers. With a passion for the environment and a knack for figuring out how things work, he's prepared to turn his hand to most tasks, especially outdoors. Tristan has been working as a Ranger on Aldabra Atoll, a UNESCO world heritage site home to a plethora of remarkable species. His role involves a diverse range of activities, from heavy lifting and stamina in challenging conditions, to an encyclopaedic knowledge of species and organisms. He leads tours for visiting tourists, and is involved in many daily island activities such as fishing, handling boats and even diving.
Bea comes from the United Kingdom, where she is a university student studying Linguistics in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Her strengths lie in her social skills, enthusiasm and technical capability, evidenced by experience in the fields of hospitality, childcare & even technology. With previous roles in the field of AI, she has strong computer skills and a natural aptitude for (& enjoyment of) administrative tasks.Yet it is her love for communication & human interaction which makes her memorable, and she is always happy to engage people from all walks of life in interesting conversation. Her productivity and organisation make her useful in many contexts, but she's also not afraid to get her hands dirty and shares Tristan's love for nature, especially the ocean.
In fact, we both met whilst volunteering for a marine conservation programme located on the isle of Mahé, Seychelles. Bonding over our sense of humour, and many shared values (kindness, curiosity, respect, capability, reliability, adaptability & contribution), we embarked on our relationship in 2024 and haven't looked back since, in spite of our 5,000-mile distance.
We are both multilingual & keen to exchange languages and cultures with other people. Bea speaks English (native), French (B2), a little Latin & a tiny bit of Scottish Gaelic; Tristan speaks Seychellois Creole (native), English (C2) & French (B2). We also love cooking together, and sharing our respective cultures through food. We are both keen photographers, & Bea has strong social media skills. -

What else ...
We love playing games, especially cards. Bea is especially passionate about Monopoly Deal, & will never be without a pack on her person! We enjoy any opportunity to get to know people better, & think games can be a great, low-pressure way to break the ice.
We also both love music (especially live) & Bea plays the piano and cello. We enjoy cooking & baking, as well as taking the time to sit down together & enjoy meals properly, with good conversation. We love hiking and exploring new places, especially in coastal locations. Most of all, we value togetherness and community, & are up for joining in and trying new things with new friends. -
