Description
We are a Spanish-German family who have lived in Menorca for about three years, in a beautiful country house with 5 cats, 5 fishes, one dog and 4 chickens. We have a small family garden and many different tasks to do. We have previously lived in Madrid and Munich. We are dedicated to photography and coaching. We have come to this island because it seems like a magical place to educate our 12-years-old daughter, because of the calm that is breathed even in the summer months. Menorca is a magical island, a biosphere reserve for more than 20 years, with a deep and sincere respect for nature. The island is full of wonderful landscapes and archaeological remains of the Talayotic culture. An ideal place for people who seek above all, calm.
Somos una familia española-alemana que vive desde hace tres años aproximadamente en Menorca, en una bonita casa de campo con cinco gatos, cinco peces, un perro y cuatro gallinas. Tenemos un huerto familiar y muchas tareas para hacer. Anteriormente hemos vivido en Madrid y en Munich. Nos dedicamos a la fotografía y al coaching. Hemos venido a esta isla porque nos parece un lugar mágico para educar a nuestra hija de 12 años, por la calma que se respira incluso en los meses de verano. Menorca es una isla mágica, reserva de la biosfera desde hace más de 20 años, con un respeto profundo y sincero hacia la naturaleza. La isla está llena de paisajes maravillosos y restos arqueológicos de la cultura talayótica. Un sitio ideal para personas que busquen sobre todo, calma.

We are a Spanish-German mixed family, very open and receptive, with a very nice and cheerful daughter. We love cooking and receiving people at home, talking and exchanging points of view and opinions.

Help
We are a family that needs help in our country house in different areas such as gardening, tree pruning and orchard, as well as in masonry, DIY and maintenance projects in general.
Somos una familia que necesita ayuda en nuestra casa de campo en diferentes ámbitos como son la jardinería, poda de árboles y huerto, cuidado de nuestra hija, cuidado de animales, mantenimiento en general así como en proyectos de albañilería, bricolaje y mantenimiento en general.

Accommodation
Independent room of approximately 15 square meters with a nice window and fiber optic Wi-Fi connection. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available to everyone, although it is also allowed to use the kitchen so that everyone can make their own dishes.

What else ...
We require five hours of daily help Monday through Friday. Volunteers can have the rest of time, as they want. We live in a country area, 30/40 min. by bike from Ciutadella de Menorca, a beautiful historic city that amazes anyone for the beauty of its houses, streets and shops. The area where we live is 20/30 minutes by bike from the nearest beach. The house is surrounded by an exuberant natural environment of great beauty. We provide volunteers with a bicycle to travel. We offer the possibility that in free time, they can accompany us on the trips that we will be doing around the island to take photos. Our daily routine usually consists from Monday to Friday of getting up at 7.30 in the morning. Our daughter has breakfast first and we take her to school and then we have breakfast at 9am. We work sometimes at home and sometimes outside. We don't have a routine. About 3pm. We eat and in the afternoon we focus on our daughter's chores and activities while continuing to work. On weekends, sometimes we receive people at home for lunch and dinner, others go on family excursions and others we rest quietly and do nothing.
Requerimos cinco horas de trabajo diario de lunes a viernes. Los voluntarios pueden disponer del resto de tiempo, según quieran. Vivimos en una zona de campo, a 30/40 min. en bici de Ciutadella de Menorca, una preciosa ciudad histórica que maravilla a cualquiera por la belleza de sus casas, calles y tiendas. La zona donde vivimos está a 20 minutos en bici de la playa más cercana. La casa está rodeada de un entorno natural exuberante de gran belleza. Ponemos a disposición de los voluntarios una bicicleta para los desplazamientos.
Nuestra rutina diaria suele consistir de lunes a viernes en levantarnos a las 7.30 de la mañana. Desayuna nuestra hija primero y la llevamos al colegio y luego desayunamos nosotros a las 9h. Trabajamos a veces en casa y a veces fuera. No tenemos una rutina. Sobre las 15h. comemos y por la tarde nos centramos en las tareas y actividades de nuestra hija a la vez que seguimos trabajando. Los fines de semana a veces recibimos gente en casa para comidas y cenas, otros hacemos excursiones en familia y otros nos quedamos tranquilamente descansando sin hacer nada.
