Description
Hello, we live in Istanbul, the most beautiful city of Türkiye, with my daughter and our cat. We are waiting for well-equipped people who want to get to know the beautiful city of our beautiful country. The place we live is close to all means of transportation, metro, Marmaray, metrobus... My daughter is 15 years old and goes to high school, she is interested in ice skating and volleyball. I am a primary school classroom teacher. Currently, I am the assistant principal of a primary school. My daughter and I are interested in English and we would love the next person to help us speak English. We would like to get to know new cultures, help people traveling the world, and meet new people. My daughter and I would like to use this program to travel in the future.

In Istanbul, we welcome volunteers as part of our family. We enjoy going to the local market together, cooking at home, having tea with neighbors, or taking a ferry ride along the Bosphorus. Exploring the city’s lively streets, concerts, and festivals is also something we love to share.
Our main goal is to practice English in daily life and improve our language skills. At the same time, we are happy to share a little Turkish, our food, and our traditions. Meeting people from different cultures allows us to learn new recipes, stories, and perspectives, which brings so much richness into our lives. In the end, it’s all about building friendships and creating a true cultural exchange.

Accommodation
We want our volunteers to feel comfortable and at home during their stay. You will have your own private room in our cozy and safe house, where everything is kept clean and welcoming. The house has a shared kitchen and bathroom that you can freely use, and we are happy to cook and share meals together or arrange how food will work in a way that feels fair and easy for everyone. Our goal is to make sure you feel relaxed, well taken care of, and part of the family while staying with us.
What else ...
Volunteers in Istanbul have plenty of options to enjoy their free time. You can take walks along the Bosphorus, hop on a ferry to explore the islands, or wander through the city’s historic streets and neighborhoods. Local markets, cozy cafés, and small art galleries are also great to discover. Getting around is easy, with public transportation providing access to almost anywhere, and we’re happy to guide volunteers on the best routes.
Life in our home is relaxed and friendly. Basic house rules include keeping shared spaces clean, taking care of belongings, and showing respect to everyone. We aim to create a pleasant and peaceful environment so that everyone can feel comfortable and at home during their stay.

Bonibon (7 years)
Our cat is 8 years old and very calm and gentle. She loves relaxing around the house and enjoys quiet company, making her a perfect companion for a peaceful home. She’s friendly, well-behaved, and used to having guests around, so volunteers will find her easy to get along with.
