    Description

We have a large garden which we need a bit of help doing some general maintenance on. The tasks include shed painting and maintenance, weeding, cutting back trees and hedges, planting, vegetable gardening, composting etc.

Inside the home there are odd jobs which we could also do with some help with. For example, tiling, installing a bath, odd jobs, painting, clearing out unwanted stuff etc.

The work available will depend on the weather.

In return we can offer full board of home cooked food, your own room with wifi and warm bedding provided, an insight to British culture, music and traditions. We like company and good conversation and will be keen to make you feel at home here!

We are vegetarians and eat a wide selection of vegetables, nuts, pulses, breads, cheese and fruit. We are happy to cook a limited amount of meat and fish. Modest amounts of alcohol are acceptable.

But we regret we cannot provide for special diet requirements such as food intolerance's and allergies.

We're located within striking distance to Sherwood forest in the heart of the north Nottinghamshire countryside in a rural village, yet not too far to the nearby towns and cities for a spot of sightseeing in your spare time. Lincoln with all the delights of the ancient gothic cathedral and the winding narrow streets of the old town is a 15 minute train ride away. We will happily help with transport to Lincoln on your days off. Nottingham is also near, about 30 minutes on the train and it has shops, cafes, an old castle, museums and galleries ready for you to visit.

It's also possible to do a day trip down to London or across to Birmingham from here by train so you can really get a flavour for the whole of England.

On the doorstep are pleasant countryside rambles, cycle paths and bridlepaths. The countryside is mainly use for arable farming situated close to the river Trent.

We're ideally looking for someone who is ready to help us out for around 5 days with two days in seven off to explore the local area.

We live in a small village in a rural area, there is a bus service that goes to Newark which is a small Nottinghamshire Town. There are no shops in the village and the nearest public house is approx 3 miles away. There are lots of pleasant walks in the immediate area. The local community run various occasional social events which you can join in with is they occur during your visit. Once a week on Friday evening there is a small community bar where local people meet for a drink and a chat.
There are cinemas theaters and art galleries in Nottingham and Lincoln
We are happy to provide transport to the nearby train station where you can travel to Lincoln and Nottingham by arrangement.
If you prefer you can just spend your time sitting and resting in the garden.
Because of the rural area, stays of not more than 7 nights are recommended also short break 2 or 3 nights can be arranged.
