Hello everyone, welcome!
The Eco-Hostal is a family entrepreneurship project formed mainly by a team of 4 people, who have the following functions:

Agroecology and orchards manager: Vladimir
The Eco-Hostal is located in the municipality of Pocona (Department of Cochabamba), within a sustainable agroecological farm according to a permaculture model and with production of different types of derivatives from our crops.
Pocona is a small town in the sacred valley of the Incas, at a distance of 140 km from the city of Cochabamba.
Since 2019, we have provided hospitality, tourism and agroecology services within the Andean worldview; Our mission is to promote and strengthen sustainable and responsible ecotourism, paying particular attention to reducing the environmental footprint. We offer visitors a place of both adventure and rest, surrounded by abundant nature and mountains that guard many legends and ancestral secrets. Within our tourism service, we offer tours with guaje specialized in archeology, history, festivities and natural trails between valleys and yungas, as part of our cultural heritage. In Pocona are the ruins of what was once one of the most important fortresses in the region, and perhaps in Bolivia: Incallajta, "The City of the Inca." This jewel of time is sometimes compared to the Bolivian Machu Picchu and represents the greatest architectural legacy of the Inca period in the municipality, in addition to 133 other archaeological zones and different sections of the Inca ñan (Andean road system).

El Eco-Hostal es un proyecto de emprendimiento familiar formado principalmente por un equipo de 4 personas, los cuales tiene las siguientes funciones:

El Eco-Hostal está ubicado en el municipio de Pocona (Departamento de Cochabamba), dentro de una granja agroecológica sustentable según modelo de permacultura y con procesamiento de diferentes tipos de derivados de nuestros cultivos.
Pocona es un pequeño pueblo en el valle sagrado de los Incas, a una distancia de 140 km de la ciudad de Cochabamba.
Desde 2019, brindamos servicios de hotelería, turismo y agroecología dentro de la cosmovisión andina; nuestra misión es promover y fortalecer el ecoturismo sostenible y responsable, prestando especial atención a la reducción de la huella ambiental. Ofrecemos al visitante un lugar de aventura y descanso, rodeado de abundante naturaleza y montañas que guardan muchas leyendas y secretos ancestrales. Dentro de nuestro servicio de turismo, ofrecemos tours con guaje especializados en arqueología, historia, festividades y senderos naturales entre valles y yungas, como parte de nuestro patrimonio cultural. En Pocona se encuentran las ruinas de lo que alguna vez fue una de las fortalezas más importantes de la región, y quizás de Bolivia: Incallajta, "La Ciudad de los Incas". Esta joya de la época a veces es comparada con el Machu Picchu boliviano y representa el mayor legado arquitectónico del periodo inca en el municipio, además de otras 133 zonas arqueológicas y diferentes tramos del Inca ñan (sistema vial andino).

Volunteering at the Eco-Hostal offers a reconnection with nature in addition to acquiring greater knowledge about the management of an agroecological farm and learning about Andean history and culture.

El voluntariado en el Eco-Hostal ofrece una reconexión con la naturaleza además de adquirir mayores conocimientos sobre el manejo de una granja agroecológica y aprender sobre la historia y cultura andina.
Help
In general we need help in the hotel service, which includes:
- cleaning and preparation of rooms;
- cleanliness and order of common spaces;
- etc.
We are interested in the exchange of recipes to enrich our culinary proposal.
In addition to the hotel service, volunteers can carry out different activities according to their knowledge or personal interests, for example:
- management of permaculture crops and/or fruit areas (corn, broad beans, peas, apples, blackberries and quinces);
- processing of crop derivatives (among others: jams, liqueurs, vinegars, essences, etc.);
- management and care of our ornamental and fruit plant nursery;
- Likewise, management and care of our small animals (cui rabbits, Spanish rabbits and chickens);
- creation of a website and implementation of social networks;
- translator and support to the guide service.
We are open to proposals for activities that can be offered to visitors and/or for the beautification of the place, depending on the skills of the volunteer. For example: making murals, different types of decorations, implementation of bioconstruction, yoga classes, astronomy, creative activities, etc.).
We normally require between 4 to 5 hours of work, with 2 days off per week. Depending on the flow of tourism and the planting, harvesting and processing season, working hours may vary and will be replaced by days off. Considering the variety of activities that can be carried out, we recommend a stay of at least two weeks to take advantage of the knowledge we provide in our daily lives, both in hotel services and in agroecology and tourism.
We can accommodate a maximum of 3 volunteers.

En general necesitamos ayuda en el servicio de hotelería, que incluye:
- limpieza y preparación de habitaciones;
- limpieza y orden de los espacios comunes
- etc.
Nos interesa el intercambio de recetas para enriquecer nuestra propuesta culinaria.
Además del servicio de hotelería, los voluntarios pueden realizar diferentes actividades de acorde a sus conocimientos o intereses personales, por ejemplo:
- manejo de cultivos de permacultura y/o áreas frutales (maíz, habas, guisantes, manzanas, moras y membrillos);
- procesamiento de derivados de cultivos (entre otros: mermeladas, licores, vinagres, esencias, etc.);
- gestión y cuidado de nuestro vivero de plantas ornamentales y frutales;
- Asimismo, manejo y cuidado de nuestros pequeños animales (conejos cui, conejos castellanos y gallinas);
- creación de un sitio web e implementación de redes sociales;
- traductor y apoyo al servicio de guía.
Estamos abiertos a propuestas de actividades que se puedan ofrecer a los visitantes y/o para el embellecimiento del lugar, según las habilidades del voluntario. Por ejemplo: realización de murales, diferentes tipos de decoraciones, implementación de bioconstrucción, clases de yoga, astronomía, actividades creativas, etc).
Normalmente requerimos entre 4 a 5 horas de trabajo, con 2 días libres por semana. Dependiendo del flujo de turismo y de la temporada de siembra, cosecha y procesamiento, las horas de trabajo podrán variar y serán reemplazadas por días libres. Considerando la variedad de actividades que se pueden realizar, recomendamos una estadía de al menos dos semanas para aprovechar los conocimientos que brindamos en nuestra vida diaria, tanto en servicios hoteleros como en agroecología y turismo.
Podemos alojar un máximo de 3 voluntarios.

Nos gustaría reforzar nuestros conocimientos del idioma inglés y francés para poder interactuar con mayor fluidez con las personas extranjeras que nos visitan. En cambio, estaremos encantados de compartir con voluntarios en nuestro idioma nativo, el idioma quechua. ___________________________________________________________________ We would like to strengthen our knowledge of the English and French language to be able to interact more fluently with the foreign people who visit us. Instead, we would be happy to share with volunteers in our native language, the Quechua language.
Accommodation
We offer volunteers a shared room with three beds, a private bathroom with a hot shower and complete meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Volunteers have the possibility of using the kitchen and the washing machine.

Ofrecemos a los voluntarios una habitación compartida con tres camas, baño privado con ducha de agua caliente y alimentación completa (desayuno, almuerzo y cena). Los voluntarios tienen la posibilidad de utilizar la cocina y la lavadora.

Pocona is a small town that does not have markets and ATMs, we recommend purchasing special products and taking out cash before entering the place.
Transportation to Pocona leaves from the taxi rank located on Republica Avenue, on the corner of Manuripi Street, almost on 6 de Agosto Avenue. The trip lasts approximately 2.5-3 hours and the cost of transportation is 25 bolivianos per person. The departure may take 1 hour or more. We recommend leaving early in the morning.
The town does not have internet access, we recommend purchasing a local telephone chip to connect.

Pocona es un pueblo pequeño que no cuenta con markets ni cajeros automáticos, recomendamos comprar productos especiales y sacar dinero en efectivo antes de ingresar al lugar.
El transporte a Pocona sale desde la parada de taxis ubicada en la Avenida República, esquina con la calle Manuripi, casi en la Avenida 6 de Agosto. El viaje tiene una duración aproximada de 2.5-3 horas y el costo del transporte es de 25 bolivianos por persona. El transporte sale una vez completo, la salida puede tardar entre 1 hora o más. Recomendamos salir temprano en la mañana.
El pueblo no cuenta con acceso a internet, recomendamos adquirir un chip telefónico local para conectarse.
