We are a small Hare Krishna based community on 12 hectares of land. We have a lovely lifestyle, growing organic vegetables, maintaining a fruit orchard, caring for a herd of ahimsa cows (kept in a non-violent way), with our small Hare Krishna Temple in the centre of activities.
Our community consists of 2 families with children, a few single people and any visitors who happen to be here.
We are located in the beautiful Motueka Valley, about 20 minutes drive from Motueka township, close to National Parks in all directions.
We take helpers who are enthusiastic, respectful and reliable.

Help with Eco Projects
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
You will benefit from the peaceful environment, friendly community atmosphere, the opportunity to learn about organic farming and also to take part in Bhakti yoga activities.
Tasks are varied, depending on the season, the weather and the need on the day! It may be gardening, orchard work, cleaning and maintenance, building or renovation projects, help around the farm, or sharing skills with the children. Work is different every day. We appreciate people with practical skills (building, painting, mechanics).

Our accommodation is a four bedroom unit with verandah. Accommodation is private, each person has their own room. Each room is cosy and has a single bed, drawers, wardrobe and heater. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are separate in our communal building. There is also a composting toilet near the accommodation unit.
The accommodation unit is in line for renovation this year - maybe you can help?!
We can provide an extra mattress in the room for couples or provide two rooms. We are working toward having a double room.
We are planning to build an attached deck and covered porch/outdoor entertainment area for the accommodation unit in the near future.
All food is provided. We have breakfast and lunch together most days. Lunch is the main meal. Dinner is not taken as a community meal. For dinner there are many leftover options and often fresh fruits and vegetables available.
There are plenty of hotspots nearby: Abel Tasman national park (35 mins), Kahurangi National park (25 mins), St Arnaud, Nelson Lakes National Park (1 hour), Golden Bay (1.5 hours) and Marlborough Sounds (1-2 hours). We can offer an arranged ride from Motueka township with prior arrangement, but otherwise no public transport comes our way.
It works best for us if you can arrive on a Sunday (especially if you need a ride from Motueka).
