I'm sooo glad I took the chance to meet Kati and Sebastian and their friends. I did not know what to expect and was still completely surprised - in the most positive way possible. Kati is full of Stories, Joy and generosity, and Sebastian is just so nice and really funny that you can't have a bad time with him. Going to the Pubs with them is an

For someone who is in love with animation this is paradise! I was lucky to arrive in a time when they were shooting a movie, so I could help with the setbuilding and -painting, which was a lot of fun. It was amazing to work among all these great artists and warmhearted people in the team. My room was like a

We rolled out of the buss into a world of magic! We felt like we became characters of an animated film ourselves for the half a month we spent with the most interesting people we've met so far. Wow! This really is the perfect workaway place! I worked there only for a few days between two other projects, but I really enjoyed those days. Everything is so relaxed and the people are very easygoing. The atmosphere is just amazing, I would have loved to stay longer. The people in this house want you to be part of the community and to have fun

I had a hell of a time while I helped this fantastic and extremely talented family in their museum at Tábor. They are a very warm and interesting crowd, like sharing a lot, and often invited me to events, travels, and reunions with their friends, I saw a lot of the Czech republic this way and met wonderful people. We have even made plans to

Tábor is a beautiful small medieval town, so just staying there is an experience on it's own, wether it's waking in its atmospheric alleys are night, sipping the best beer of the world in the marvelous, authentic and never-found-by-a-tourist local bar, or attending the seemingly constant cultural events offered in the main square.
Give this a chance! You won't regret it.You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Ricardo and Barbara came to Tabor just when our new puppet animation started and from the first week, we were so happy to have them here! We had extreme busy period then, but with a great attitude they adapted into the everyday life of a smaľl art company- and artistic tamily life too! They learned very quickly the special methods of set design in

And our bohemian chaos in the living floor is definitely less visible now after they managed to tame the papers, old props, books and materials into better order! Our museum dog Patek enjoyed the long walks with them, and our cat Aida also got a lot of nice attention,as well as the rabbits Bella and Margarita. To put it shortly, Ricardo and Barbara became truly members of the Tabor Old Town's extended artistic community, and everybody here are waiting their comeback eagerly. Good luck wherever the path goes!

Staying with Katariina and her family was an unforgettable experience! The museum is a captivating and cozy place for those who like puppets and animation and would like to peek behind the 'curtains'. There we could see Katariina's movies while looking at the real scenarios and puppets around us. The environment in the house is calm, creative and
… read more very musical. Apart from some domestic duties we spend most of our work hours in the workshop and in the studio where we had the opportunity to help in the production of the movie, building and painting props and some parts of the scenarios. We really enjoyed learning about the process and to see the sets ready to shoot was like to see a little new world ready to come alive on the screen. Being close to the process of making animation made us fall even more in love for it. It was a pleasure to help and time passed without we even notice it in the company of the crew and new friends. Spending time walking around with the lovely Pátek (the sweetest dog) was our way to first know Tábor and he is the best guide you can ask for! We met Faust (the big puppy dog) in the last days and he is also very fun to be with! We learned a lot about Czech and Finish culture through music, food and good conversations with the family. Onni is a wonderful cook, always eager to talk about finish and Czech culture, Katariina is a very captivating woman and artist, and Tomás a great musician with good stories to tell! With this family you will not be bored and there is always a lot happening around them.
The old part of the town where the museum is located is very nice, with little streets and stone sidewalks, a big square and a lot of interesting pubs, restaurants, museums, galleries and stores. The walks along the river and the forest nearby were addictive, specially when the spring sun started to appear.
Tábor is a special place, has a wonderful energy, people are peaceful, kind, fun and we felt very well welcomed to the town since the first day! Besides the family in the museum we met a lot of nice Tábor inhabitants, specially in the pub nearby where we spend so many wonderful evenings! The jam sessions and the concerts there were really cool and Katariina always surprised us with her emotional and strong voice. And we will not forget the first time we sang together one the most important songs of the Portuguese Carnation Revolution. We made good friends, and after the 4 weeks in the museum we didn't want to leave and we had the opportunity to stay more time in another place with new friends. Now that we are about to leave, we know that we will come back to meet all of you again! If you need our help again please don't hesitate on contacting us.
We are missing you and Tábor's atmosphere already! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

The puppet museum in Tábor is definitely a cool place and the people living and working there are very friendly and above all special and interesting persons.
It was really a shame that I was there during a time in which I couldn't help much in making the movie. I love Katariina's previous works and taking part in the production process would

I'm afraid that in general I had a feeling of not being at the museum during the best time: Everybody was very busy which left me by myself quite a lot. It would have been nice to spend more time with everybody.
However I did spend two very nice weeks at the museum with nice evenings in the pub, wonderful hours in the old-town of Tábor (amazing city!) plus a great day with Onni in Prague.
Thank you for everything. Our 5-hour-jamsession in the pub will forever be a cherished memory. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

My first workaway experience has started in the best way: I enjoyed every single minute of the 2 months spent with Katy and Onni. I didn't feel like work, I felt like part of the family and I had lots of fun with them, their friends and their lovely pets.
The only downside is that I'll miss Tabor for a very long time :)
Hope to see you again

We were lucky to have Ismael with us during the hectic times before the museum openings. He did excellent work in creating our new websites and shared our small accommodation facilities with great humour. We thank you dearly and wish you a happy journey forwards!
