    Description

We are Francesca and Sergio with our joyful almost 4 years old baby.

We have 3 hectares field 5 km from the town of Farnese, with 90 olive trees, some fruit trees, wood all around and a river at ten minutes of sloping walk.
We are refurbishing an old building, prepare for harvesting olives, and more.

We can host in a tent or in a super-tiny house, at the field. Or at home in town if we are still there at the time of your arrival.

The field is off-the-grid, with solar electricity (for devices too), rainwater collector with sink and a compost toilet. So be prepared for the wild life!

    Something about us.
Francesca do artisanal works, like basketery and sewing; sometimes she also organize events.
Sergio makes organic extravergine olive oil, beer and vegetables. Before this country life he worked many years as copy editor for a publishing house.
We are open minded, love diversity, very courious and love to learn from others. We love to meet people but wild animals too. We work a lot so the evening we usually go to bed early and we are not so chatty. Our goal is to live in harmony and deeply connected to nature.

We offer a place to stay, vegan organic breakfast, lunch and dinner for 5 hours of help a day, 5 days a week. We welcome you as part of the family, for duties too, like cooking, washing dishes and cleaning.
We are very careful about waste and ecology and we ask for the same attention, that it means for example save water as possible.

We like to host people independent, dynamic, strong, able to express her/himself, peaceful and joyful... with sense of humor and autoirony if we are allowd to dream :)

How to reach us: at the train stops of Montalto di Castro or Viterbo you can take a bus Cotral to Farnese. Please check timetable in advance.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Visit the beauties of this place (with car better), learn some Italian, and italian cousine, some permaculture basis, some olive tree cure, some beer making of, building stuff, knowing us and our friends, learn from children how to live simply, laugh and rest!

This is a straordinary land full of very ancient history and at the same time wild nature. We are sorrounded by woods ("Riserva Naturale Selva del Lamone") with waterfalls and pathways; at 15 minutes by car from natural thermal water (and one hour to the best that is for us "Terme di S. Filippo") and beatiful waterfalls (es. Cascata del Salabrone) and lakes (Lago di Bolsena, Lago di Mezzano); 20-30 minutes - always by car - to ancient towns, like Pitigliano, Bolsena and Sorano; 30 minutes from seaside like Argentario and mountains Amiata.
In this area there are also interesting local tiny museums ("Simulabo").
Farnese in itself it's a very small town, but nice and welcoming.
In winter is a little more difficult to go around, for the cold weather (January-February) and for the scarce buses: if you don't have car you have to be very determinated and organized, or like to stay in the nature most of the time.

Be aware that in Farnese passes only few buses, only in the daylight.
