    We are looking for those wanting to get off the grid, really wanting to see what goes into being sustainable. We are a community working on creating a sustainable multi-story cropping farm of 600+ trees and shrubs of many varieties. We are working on reducing the effects of erosion in this delicate rain forest ecosystem, while eliminating invasive species and replacing with native Hawaiian, and non natives. Avocado, Citrus, Coffee, Cacao, Banana, Sour Sop, Mamaki. Also, improving dwellings as well as building new structures, ie: composting toilets, outdoor showers, raised beds, etc.

    Get ready to immerse yourself into native Hawaiian culture of Hana, Nahiku, Maui. Learn about invasive species, native and non native species and their affect on the environment. Farmstead, solar power, water catchment system, chickens, gardening and composting are just a few of the things we have going on here.

    Physically fit, eager to learn about reforestation, gardening, and being sustainable. The ability to use lawn mowers, weedeaters, machete, lawn and garden equipment very helpful. Maintaining plant sites,mowing and weedeating, pulling weeds along with continual mulching of all plant sites. Our goal is to grow 20% of the food we eat and we need help planting and maintaining a garden of herbs and vegetables. Clean and orderly lifestyle necessary. You share space with up to 5 others. There is an abundance of pests' here i.e. roaches, rats, bugs, spiders, so a clean and orderly lifestyle is necessary. Willingness to go the extra mile, be interested, giving input, growing personally, sustainable lifestyle help out additionally with animals, meals, gatherings, cooking, sharing your gifts and talents, being involved, and proactive, able to work independently or in groups as needed.
    We work Mon. to Fri. 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    We are looking for helpers to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months minimum, sorry non negotiable on this one. Due to CoVid communication is key to keep us all safe.

    Remote jungle rural area.We call the accommodations the Bunkhouse. It's a rustic, 2 story home, water catchment, no electricity, and no internet access,( wi-fi available at roadside stands and in the town of Hana). It can house up to 6 people, shared kitchenette, composting toilets and outdoor shower. We hand wash our laundry, with fresh rain water, plenty of rain and sun available for this.
    Ocean views from the fabulous deck at the back of the house and mountain views from the front porch.
    You need to be able to take care of most of your own food for the time you will be staying. We provide staples, potatoes, rice, beans, bread and peanut butter. You will be responsible for the rest of your food.

    The beautiful island of Maui has much to offer, world class beaches, waterfalls, hiking trails, and that's just in Hana, not to mention the other side of the island to explore.There's local traffic to town if you're looking for a quick trip to the beach.
