We live in Pretoria, a beautiful and safe city in South Africa just North of Johannesburg. I have a partner and two beautiful children, a daughter (16) and a son (14). I work full time from home, and sometimes travel in to town for business.
We love meeting new people from foreign countries and have been involved in CouchSurfing for a few years, hosting several interesting people from all over the world. My children are well mannered and love questioning the guests, and teaching them some Afrikaans (our native language). We are easy-going, friendly and adventurous.

You will learn South African culture as well as experience living in our beautiful country. You are welcome to travel in the mornings and over weekends if you want to see other parts of the country, or for longer times over school holidays. You will definitely experience a South African braai (barbecue) as my partner does this more than once weekly. You can also learn some South African dishes and we would love to learn making your own native dishes.
Au Pair work:
Because I work full time, I am not available in afternoons to take the kids to extra-curricular activities. It would be wonderful to have someone helping me with driving, helping the kids with homework or assignments if needed and also being available sometimes for evening baby-sitting.
I would prefer if you have an international driver's license so you can drive the children around in my car. Otherwise walking is also possible, as everything is quite close-by. I only need you available every week day, Monday to Friday, from around 1:30-6:30. The rest of the time is yours to explore, travel or just relax at home.
We are in the process of setting up a hydroponics system. I would love for someone to get the system going and take care of it on a daily basis.
My partner started a distillery project and would be really grateful for some help.

We live in a stand-alone house right next to the Magliesberg mountain. I can provide accommodation in a separate bachelor's flat, with a room and bathroom and basic kitchen. I have wifi available. If you have a driver's license, mostly either the car or the scooter will be available for transport (fuel cost is on your own account, except if driving the kids around).
