    Description

Meg and I own and operate a farm ranch of 1000 acres and produce bison and timber. I need help with timber management on the forested land and updating the bison corrals next spring. We live in a rural area which we love. We've been a part of our community for 24 years and love it here. Our area is in Montana but not really close to a population center. If you want city life you shouldn't apply with us, you'd be better off near Missoula or Bozeman. If you want to learn how to run a chain saw, fall trees, build and fix things, time travel to the 50's then our operation would suit you. We're non-smokers, non-drinkers and consider ourselves "spiritual" not religious. We've both been called workaholics but I think we just like to get things done and enjoy working outside and believe in our product.

You will learn how to do forestry projects that improve the forest, make it more fire resistant and resilient to climate change and will learn how to fix about anything on a real farm/ranch. You'll burn lots of calories, get a good feel for life in a rural setting that is authentic and have fun doing it. We're close to lots of outdoor recreational opportunities in Western Montana.

You would live in our walk in basement which has its own bathroom and is nicely finished and comfortable. We will share meals, Meg is an awesome cook and I can heat up anything from Costco.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There's lots of opportunity for outdoor activities here but not as much for entertainment and dining. We would provide a vehicle or transportation to Missoula which has lots to do. No smoking and drinking allowed unless pre-approved.
