    Description

    July/August

    We live in a spacious modern home in the foothills of the Dublin mountains, in a peaceful green setting with easy access to both Dublin city and the beautiful Wicklow countryside.

    Our home is ideal for someone who enjoys nature, animals, and a relaxed home environment. There are wonderful walking trails, parks and hiking routes very close by and regular buses into Dublin city centre, so it’s easy to enjoy both outdoor life and the city during your stay.

    You’ll have your own private bedroom and bathroom, plenty of free time, and a comfortable base to explore Dublin and the surrounding mountains.

    This is a great stay for someone who enjoys animals, nature, and having a peaceful, comfortable base near both the city and the mountains.

    We’d love to host someone kind, responsible, and easy-going who will enjoy spending time with the dogs, helping out, and making themselves at home with us.

    Help around the home

    I’ll be away studying abroad for one month, and I’m looking for a kind, reliable and confident driver to help care for our home and pets while I’m away.

    The main help is with our two friendly dogs:

    * daily walks
    * keeping them company
    * feeding and general care

    There will also be some light help around the house such as watering plants, helping keep things tidy, and small day-to-day household tasks.

    A key part of this stay is helping with one short daily round trip to the nearby equestrian centre for my adult daughter. The drive is very local and takes only 7–10 minutes in total (house to centre and back), but a full clean driving licence and confident driving are essential.

    This is a relaxed and easy exchange, ideal for someone independent, responsible, and happy in a calm home environment.

    Our animals

    We have two lovely dogs who are a big part of the home.

    Hardy is a sweet and intelligent 9-year-old Jack Russell who loves walks, company, and relaxing afterwards.

    Penny is a cheerful and affectionate 3-year-old cockapoo who is full of energy and loves getting out for walks and hikes.

    They are both affectionate, friendly, and love being outdoors.

    We also have a young Connemara pony nearby. My adult daughter manages him each day, so no horse care experience is needed, but it’s a lovely bonus if you enjoy horses too.

    A little extra help

    My adult daughter will also be at home during this time and manages the horse each day.

    She does not need childminding or supervision, but she does need one short daily round trip to and from the nearby equestrian centre.

    This is a simple but important part of the daily routine while I’m away.

    Hardy (9 years)

    Hardy is a highly intelligent Jack Russell. He loves to sunbathe, play tug, snuggle up, sniff everything on his walks and his long hikes/ walks.
    He’s very affectionate. He’s not keen on high energy young dogs or young children about to pull him around. It makes him nervous and fearful . So I always intervene to warn parents or young children to be calm or leave him alone. He does like to meet other dogs but prefers old/ calm dogs.
