Description
Hello!
We are Leonard (64) and Ariane (57), we live in a farmhouse in the Eastern part of the Netherlands.
We are looking for helping hands, especially gardening and DIY. Please scroll down to ‘Help’ to see which projects we have at the moment.
Both Leonard and Ariane are interested in mindfulness, yoga, meditation, nature, cooking (if we have time), reading, and traveling. We don't smoke, we eat healthy (vegetarian) and we are quite 'hands-on'. You will be part of our friendly community of two, most days there are also other friendly souls passing by, like a friend/family member, a neighbor, an employee or teenagers who do some hands on work for us in their spare time. We all get along well.
We would like you to be part of our lifestyle and help us take care of our farmhouse and its premisses, which are dear to us. If you like to spend many hours behind Netflix, eating fast food, and smoke, we recommend you to look for another project. We enjoy having you around, sharing our lives/mission (yoga, meditation, helping others on their journey) with you, and we enjoy hearing your stories, your journey.
Please also do not apply if you attend business school and need international work experience for your degree, we need 'hands-on people' for now and for a maximum of 3 weeks.Types of help and learning opportunities

We will provide vegetarian meals. You are more than welcome to help our own cooking as well and learn from us. We can recommend places to travel to in the Netherlands. If possible with our schedule we can give you a lift to the bus or train.
Help
- help building one wall of old bricks on one side of our small organic garden. Please have experience with building a wall so it doesn't fall down, it will need some foundation. This is the most important task. Please don't apply if you can not do this.
- help with setting up a fence
- help our garden man plant
- help with our sheep/pony's/chicken, giving them love and food, keep them clean/brushed
- help carrying stuff around, our garage will be finished, we want to put a tools wall in there and a tools table and organize our tools neatly
- helping to hang things up on walls (so you must be handy with a drill/nails/hammer)
- help us improve our software system so it becomes more efficient. We work with Apple, Dropbox, Canvas, AsanaLanguages spoken

You will have your own bedroom and shared bathroom; if there are two workawayers, you might share a bedroom.
We share the washing machine, kitchen, dining, and living areas. You will have a space in the fridge. We provide two vegetarian meals (lunch and dinner) when you are staying with us. Breakfast you can find in the fridge for yourself to make. You can relax in our garden. You can swim in our pool. You can grab a bike and go on bike trips. What else ...
The house is surrounded by some farmlands and some woods, it’s a quiet place in the countryside. We have bikes you can borrow to explore the surroundings. There is a charming city called Deventer nearby, which is a 30 minute bus drive. If you have a drivers license we sometimes allow you to borrow our car. Deventer has a lot to offer, such as a rich history, unique shops and lovely cafes. If you would like to explore more of the Netherlands (or Germany), you can easily catch a train from Deventer. It takes 1:15h to Amsterdam and 1:10 h to Utrecht.

The work is usually done outside in the garden or with the animals. There are many people of different nationalities, which is great.
Heeten is a small village at 10min by bike, nice to go for a beer in the evening.
