    Description

We live on a small organic farm on a small island, Hjarnø. There is a short ferry ride from Snaptun and about 20 minutes to a relatively large city, Horsens. We are interested in preserving biodiversity in agriculture, and have heritage grain varieties, and cultivation methods. Right now we have a few sheep and chickens. We also have a vegetable garden, fruit trees and berries, as well as flower gardens. Jens is interested in old wooden boats and Ingrid is an artist and craftsperson. We are active in our local community and have arranged concerts on the island. We both have fulltime jobs and too many good ideas.
We are looking for help finishing our home renovation, help in our yard, keeping house and helping with meals.
In the spring Jens could use help getting his sailboat ready.

Hjarnø is a typical small island community, as well as being close to city life. The island is welcoming and it is easy to make contact with residents here. There are about 120 people on the island, ranging from newborn to retirees, about 25 children.
Jens is from Denmark and Ingrid is from USA. Jens has sailed in many parts of the world. Ingrids background is from New England with connections to Sweden. We are both grandparents and our children and grandchildren live nearby, so there is also an opportunity to meet younger people.
