You will be self sufficient and won't mind spending time alone. There is lots of work restoring an old mud brick bungalow, learning about earth and lime plaster, tending the garden, looking after the resident dogs (and there will be lots of time to explore the area, walk in the forest or just hang out in the hammocks in the garden).
Natural building project just 10 minutes from the tombs and roses of Kazanlak, Bulgaria. Suitable for singles or couples who don't mind basic conditions. You'll be staying in a rustic mud brick bungalow nestled in the Balkans, in a quiet village near walking tracks, mountains and just 12 km from Kazanlak.
Basic accommodation in an old Bulgarian house. Toilet, spring water, basic cooking facilities. Option to spend some nights in an apartment in Kazanlak and to use washing and internet facilities there. Good bus links. Beautiful nature. Not suitable for children. You can do as much or as little work as you want; the aim over the summer is to repoint old stone wall with traditional lime mortar, dig up and lay adobe flooring, create sculpted earthen walls to make a bathroom and to breathe life into an old mud brick bungalow.
Many local sights including the Rose Valley, Thracian tombs, Koprinka reservoir, Kazanlak. Great links to surrounding cities. Hiking trails start from the house.
