    Description

Escape to the beautiful South Gippsland Region and help us with gardening tasks at our stunning private property in Tarwin Lower!

Hi! We’re Dianne and Jon, a recently retired couple in our early sixties who decided to escape the hustle and bustle of Melbourne. We purchased this private property five years ago and now live here full-time, enjoying the slower pace and deep connection to nature and the outdoors.
We love outdoor activities like bike riding, skiing, camping and hiking. We’re also passionate about Australian music, enjoying live gigs whenever we can, as well as good food, growing our own veggies and living sustainably. We take pride in preserving our own food and making our own cleaning products (where we can), embracing a simple and fulfilling lifestyle.
We’re excited to share our little slice of paradise with someone or a couple! While we don’t currently have any pets, we love dogs and welcome them - & our property is fully fenced.
Our home is located in Tarwin Lower, a small town of around 500 people located on the banks of the Tarwin River in South Gippsland (a 2 hour drive from Melbourne and 1 hour drive from Wilsons Prom National Park).
Our 1.4 acre property features beautifully landscaped grounds, manicured lawns, a large vegetable garden, olive trees, fruit trees and native plants.
The main house includes a fantastic outdoor kitchen with a wood heater, where we enjoy most of our meals.
Two sides of the property are bordered by farmland, creating a semi-rural atmosphere. Our “Dam paddock” features a jetty and fire pit with expansive views towards the sand dunes of Venus bay. Perfect for an evening happy hour with great sunsets.
800meters to the supermarket, cafe, pub and river jetty.
Please note: There is no public transport in the area. A car is recommended to make the most of your stay.
We are not a farm. We are a private homestead and only produce produce for our family and friends. We have a lot of ideas and a lot of projects however at our age it is difficult to keep up and we find we need help.
