  We are a retired couple who live on a lifestyle block in Waihi. We have chickens, cows, vege garden, orchard and a very energetic dog. Waihi is in close proximity to a beautiful beach and the Coromandel Peninsula.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We love meeting folks from different countries and would be happy to offer information and tips about our local area. I am a kiwi and my husband is American. Additionally we run a BnB on a casual basis.

  Help

  Our property is slopping and because we don’t spray we have plenty of wedding to do. This is where you come in, tasks would be simple weeding and trimming. Just a few days work is required.

  Accommodation

  We offer a self contained shipping container (sleep out). Includes a shower, toilet and small kitchen. It is a cozy space with everything you need. Frank modified the shipping container himself and wherever possible we try to use recycled materials.

  What else ...

  It is preferable that you have your own transportation as Waihi can be difficult to get to by bus. There are many places to explore using us as a base.
  We would not provide meals, the sleep-out has a small kitchen which would allow you to prepare your own meals. There is a supermarket in the town of Waihi just 3kms away. In exchange we would just require 2 hours work, per person, per day, 5 days per week.
