*Paid Apple Picking for October early November
We are a couple with 3 children, Lucie 7, Joshua 4 and Mia 2. We live in the countryside with our 2 dogs, Peaches the St Bernard and Lady our Springer. I am French, from Brittany and speak French only with the kids. Phil is Irish and we speak English when all together. Lucie is bilingual. Josh understand both and speak a bit of both.
We are apple growers, we grow 50 acres quite intensively, on a rented farm 15min from home. We also have 70 colonies of bees...
We live on a little farm we bought recently it is only 4-5 acres and we are after planting a few apples trees, plum trees, pears, raspberries, a small vineyard (1200vines)... we would like to farm that place in an ecofriendly way. We are looking into the permaculture, biodynamic concepts...
From today and for another 3-4 weeks we have seasonal pay jobs available as apple pickers. It is not an easy job : starts at 8.00-9.00 and finish at 17.00. We already work with 15 people. You will be leaving in a mobile home next to our home. After these 3 weeks you will be welcome to stay with us if you want as workawayers and help us with our gardening project at our place.
We are also looking for a mature person to help me looking after the kids and the house. This time of the year is our busiest time because we are picking our crop of apples. I will be off on the main farm on picking days.
That person would ideally have a driving license to drive the kids to school and to their activities.

We really want you to enjoy your stay in Ireland. We are very flexible to accommodate any trip you want to plan. There is no shortage of activities in the garden. There is plenty to exchange regarding horticulture and beekeeping.
Anyone interested in joining our gang would be involve in the development of the home farm/garden/bees/wax... as well as looking after the kids and some dinners. We would like someone interested in both aspects of our venture: the kids and the farm. It all comes together... the farm helps us to keep them busy ;) ... Very little use of the TV down our place!

We have a mobile home available most of the year near the house. We are happy to share breakfast and lunch/dinner with our workaway.
Regarding trips to discover Ireland, we are in the South East which is getting more and more interesting regarding cycling tracks. We will be happy to bring you to the bus station when required for trips up or down the country!
