PROFILE: Welcome to our Ashram. We are a spiritual oasis in the heart of central Auckland. We offer a unique cultural exchange for girls aged between 19-25, interested in exploring the science of yoga and meditation. Yoga is far more than just a workout. We offer the complete yoga lifestyle experience - meditation, a range of interactive workshops exploring ancient knowledge and techniques and cooking classes, to find connection and happiness in your everyday life.
We are a non profit centre. We have a very diverse and dynamic community of volunteers such as: chefs, artists, teachers, tradesmen, musicians, students etc. Everyone can contribute in some way or the other to our team and take home a memorable experience. We are looking for female volunteers who have a keen interest in experiencing a deeper yoga and meditation lifestyle.
IMPORTANT: We want to make sure that you have the best experience while you are with us. Hence we request Workawayers to try out volunteering for a few days first and participate in our different front and back end activities (yoga , meditation, talks, university club activities, meeting lots of different people, cooking, administrative stuff and more).This is purely so you can have a taste of what we're all about and see if it's something you would enjoy continuing with!
Trial period is from Sunday evening 4:30 pm to Wednesday evening. For the trial period, we are happy to provide our volunteers with wholesome delicious vegetarian/vegan meals, but request them to find their own accommodation. If the trial is successful, then you can move in with the host family on Thursday morning at 9:00 am. Please organise your travel plan accordingly.
We have a minimum stay of 2 weeks. You are more than welcome to have a mutual discussion with the host family if you would like to extend your stay.

You will be staying at an ashram. Ashram is a place where you will acquire invaluable tools and techniques to enhance your physical, mental, intellectual, emotional and spiritual well-being. An Ashram provides:
Asana practice, pranayama and vegetarian/vegan diet.
Spiritualise your being with early morning mantra meditation sessions
Heart to heart friendships and connections with your ashram mates
Raise your consciousness with timeless yoga wisdom
Acquire lifestyle management habits through Yoga culture
Mental peace, balance and harmony
During your stay, we would expect you to attend our enriching ashram schedule as follows:
7:45 am: Yoga
8:15 am: Meditation
8:30 am: Discussion
9:00 am: Breakfast
10:00 am - 5:30 pm - Volunteering work (4-5 hours) + Personal time
6:00 pm - 8:30 pm - Attending Loft events
8:35 - 8:45 pm - Wind down yoga at Ashram
You will also learn many more skills such as learning to play exotic instruments from the East, learning Sanskrit etc..
We have such a varied range of service to get involved in. Any skill or interest you have can be utilized within our communtity. You will have the opportunity to teach yoga if you so wish, attend workshops, volunteer and help out in anyway you feel. With the main focus connecting with like minded people from across the globe!

Volunteers will be provided free accommodation with a host family. It will be a shared room with girls only. No more than 3-4 people in the room and three delicious vegetarian/vegan meals in return for volunteering activities.
If you are a nature lover, you are welcome to join our weekly bush walks.
If you are a book worm, you can immerse yourself in timeless spiritual library available at the ashram
If you are into good food, you can explore our many recipe books and come up with menu plans!
