  Description

  We are a family of four plus one dog living in the middle of the island of Mallorca. We have a beautiful home in a rural setting, surrounded by vineyards and views of the mountains. We are originally from the UK and decided to relocate to Mallorca 18 months ago. We enjoy a simple life with the pleasures of nature all around us. There is fruit on the trees, a vegetable garden and chickens for fresh eggs daily. As a family we are healthy and active, happy and try to have as much fun as possible. The children are 9 and 12. Our house runs on solar energy and we have a well for water. On clear nights the stars are amazing as there is not much light pollution and it's a quiet place to live.

  Travellers will benefit by getting the chance to see the less touristic parts of Mallorca. We live in a typically Mallorquin village. There will be opportunities during weekends and middle of the day to explore and visit other areas as well as learn about the islands culture. We are all learning to speak Spanish but our main language is English so travellers could improve their English whilst staying with us as well as improving Spanish. You will have time to be in nature everyday and the cooler temperatures will allow you to go for hikes as well as swimming. You will also be learning what it is like to take care of a growing family whose focus is on making human connections and be part of the happy environment we have created here.

  Help

  I am looking for another pair of hands for the month of September. Principally someone to assist with the children's busy routines, light house tasks and some meal preparation. This could involve attending football practice, supervising homework, babysitting and helping with meals. If you can garden that is a bonus and any teaching skills will be majorly helpful as my daughter is partly home educated. If you like sport that is great too as both children are really active and enjoy having someone to join in games. We have a lovely dog so any experience with dogs is great too so you can help out with walking when needed.

  Accommodation

  We have a spare room in the house for a traveller. The bedroom is on the upstairs floor along with one of the childrens bedrooms. There is a door to the roof terrace and AC should it be required.You will use same bathrooms (there are 2) and during the duration of your stay there will only be one other adult in the house ( me the mum). Food will be included and breakfast and lunch help yourself whilst the evening meal can be shared with the family.

  What else ...

  We are just outside the village but there is a bus stop 7 mins away with good links to Inca and Palma. Where possible I am very happy to give lifts to train stations and assist travellers in getting to where they need to go. But the family only has one car so expect to spend free time getting around on Public transport. Time off can be spent hiking, visiting beaches or the nearby town of Inca. Palma is 40 minutes by bus. We have many lovely walks and you will find yourself with time to relax and switch off from the race of life.
  Spending time in the home with us will mean doing family things together, playing games, cooking, exploring. We are quite well organised in the home, clean and tidy. And we expect that any visitors respect this.
  There are many fun things to do on Mallorca from cycling, hiking, cooking, coastal activities and sailing and travellers will get a good amount of time off to explore these things.
