    Description

We live in the countryside in northern Sweden. The location offers midnight sun in the summer and northern lights in the winter and the opportunity to discover vast landscapes, wildlife and nature-filled adventures. Our family consists of two adults, a teenage boy, two dogs, and two parrots. We live in a secluded house on a large property by the shore of an even larger lake. The workawayer will be staying in a cozy 25-square-meter log cabin located on the edge of the property. The cabin is fully equipped for a comfortable stay, including a complete kitchen and a newly renovated bathroom.

We, the adults in the household, are both social and open-minded people who enjoy meeting new people and sharing experiences, knowledge, stories, and ideas. When the weather allows, we love to cook dinner over an open fire by the fireplace outdoors — a perfect setting for conversations and relaxed evenings together.

Since we live in a secluded area, there isn’t much social life nearby, so you’ll need a car to join activities or meet up with others. The nearest larger village is about a 20-minute drive away, and it takes around 45 minutes to get to the closest town.

To truly enjoy your stay with us, you should find joy, energy, and appreciation in nature — which is right outside the door. There are lakes, forests, wetlands, and hills all waiting to be explored and enjoyed.

  • Help

    Help

We’re looking for help with the everyday tasks that come with country living — such as mowing the lawn, clearing brush, and various outdoor projects during the summer, and indoor projects and snow shoveling in the winter. We may also need help with pet and house sitting if we travel.

The workawayer will not be involved in our accommodation business.

The cabin has a rustic charm and a history that — along with the fireplace — adds to its cozy atmosphere. It's tastefully decorated with a blend of classic details and modern comforts. In the sleeping area, you’ll find a wardrobe and a 160 cm wide bed with high-quality mattresses. The bathroom includes a toilet and shower, and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils and appliances you might need for cooking — including an oven, stove, refrigerator, and freezer.

The workawayer can cook their meals in the cabin or join us in the house for shared cooking and dining. We mostly prepare traditional Swedish home-cooked meals but are open to trying new flavors and concepts (as long as it’s not too spicy).
Groceries will be provided by us so that the guest can have breakfast in the cabin.
Lunch and dinner will be eaten with us if we are at home or, if the guest wishes or if we are not at home, on their own in the cottage. We pay for the purchase of groceries needed for this.

We have internet via Starlink and the speed is usually measured at 100-300mbit/s and there is an extender in the cabin. Should the internet in the cabin become unstable, we prepare space in our office in the house where the Workawayer can sit and work.
