Hi! My name is Monica!
I was born in Romania but my parents moved to Quebec when I was nine. I think I always knew that it wasn't the place for me so after a trip to Morocco, where I fell in love with the country, I decided that it was here I wanted to call home.
I've now been living here for almost a year and a half and adopted two strays, Kayla a golden hound (that's what I decided her breed was because I have no idea) and Olivia a little monster cat that loves to eat and will snatch food right from your plate if you're not paying attention. She can be very sweet though when she wants to.

I was also once a tourist so I guess I can share a lot of tourist insight about places worth visiting, activities, restaurants. My Darija (the Moroccan dialect) isn't great but I can teach you all the basics to get around.
My fiancé and his friend started a project called the Moroccan Experience which consists of meeting with local artisans and getting to try their crafts. There is ceramic painting, weaving a cane basket, processing leather, pottery and I think they also have embroidery. You would get a discount if you would like to try any of those.
I've been teaching English for the past year but would love to slowly come back to my little business of making clothing, art prints and postcards.
I could really use more time so getting some help with cooking, cleaning, walking Kayla, my puppy would really be amazing!
If all goes well and you feel comfortable taking care of Olivia and Kayla, my fiancé and I would love to take a weekend and go somewhere, leaving you to petsit. Because we weren't able to find a petsitter that can stay with them we pretty much haven't done anything this summer which I'm really sad about.
Or IF you have a drivers licence and IF you would feel comfortable driving in Morocco(not in big cities but to more remote places) my boyfriend and I would gladly pay for a rental car and we can organize a trip somewhere during our days off. My fiancé doesn't have a licence yet and I suspended mine in Canada which I really regret because we would love to take our pets with us and travel.

A spacious private room!
I live in a calm neighbourhood of Sale, next to Rabat. I mean for Morocco it's calm, but there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants that stay open pretty late close to my place. The ocean is two minutes away but there is no beach, only cliffs which are very beautiful.
To go to the nearest beach you can take a 6dirham(60 cents) shared taxi.
To get to Rabat, there are shared taxis that pass pretty much every 5 minutes for 5 dirhams only a street away and it's a 15min ride to the center and the old medina. Coming back there are taxis until at least 1am.
