    Description

***We are currently focused on restoring the oldest house in to the village to create an artist residency and various gardening tasks. Skilled carpenters please reach out :) We also have some digital tasks like grant writing, website creation, social media, and online systems.***

My partner Andrew and I (Martin) are working on an artist residency in the countryside of Northeast Skåne. We have a home built in 1906 which we renovated in 2019. We also have a restored cottage- where there is private room for 2 workaway guests or a couple. Its a charming cottage with a sleeping loft, bedroom, small kitchen and bathroom. It also has very fast internet.

We will provide healthy (mostly organic) food and a nice, private place to sleep. The house has very fast wifi and an ever-increasing selection of books.

The village is peaceful with only 50 residents. There is a defunct quarry full of clean water for swimming 100m from the front door. Many lakes are within a short walk, and trails for running in the forest. The old quarry building nearby has been restored as a community arts center. We are working on a community sauna on the quarry and other community installations.

We live part-time in Copenhagen therefore we are often away from the home on weekends. Because of this, you will sometimes be at the house alone, therefore, please appreciate some quiet time alone, or those travelling as friends or a couple. Furthermore, if you have a vehicle that will allow you to explore the area if we are not here-that is a plus. But there are many beautiful spots within walking distance.

Note: we have a cat named Boots who was living wild in the village and we adopted him. He's so sweet and mostly outside. He never goes in the Workaway living quarters.

For those interested please respond to the following questions, point form is fine! And please share any questions you have for us:

    1. What brings you to Workaway? and interests you about our project?

    2. What kind of tasks do you wish to do in order of preference?

    3. What are your goals through workaway at this time?

    4. Do you have an ideal work schedule? (hours of the day)

    5. Are you ok with sharing a small cottage? (private room yes)

    6. Are you allergic to cats?

    7. Dietary preferences? Restrictions?

Those who enjoy this place the most:

    1. Enjoy being in a tiny village in nature and entertaining themselves with things like reading, running, nature walks, cooking.

    2. Pleasure in working with their hands and outside often in cold and wet Scandi weather.

    3. Keep a tidy space.

    4. Appreciate healthy food and enjoy cooking.

    5. Appreciate flexible hours but generally starting at approx 9 or 10 (5 hours per day).

    6. Art/design geeks often appreciate the projects around the village (but not necessary).

    7. Bonus for animal lovers. Boots is totally adorbale :)
