    Description

    The Project is aimed to integrate traditional and modern farming techniques and creating a space to live. We are situated in Villaverde, Fuerteventura. We are a Dutch-Hungarian couple with our 1.5-year old son, Simeon, and our black cat (Sheelo).

    Our whole plot is +/ 2500 m2. The camp site we built consists of a 12m container which we made a tool shed and an apartment with kitchen. We sleep in a Mongolian yurt. The container and the yurt are connected with a garden and greenhouse. There is an outdoor shower, a composting toilet and we use solar panels for electricity. The workaway-er can sleep in an outdoor tent (with 1,20 x 2m bed) and have more privacy.

    Most of the work will be during 5 mornings (9-14h), and then you'll have the afternoon/evening and weekend free.

    We are looking for help with building and planting in the garden and sometimes babysitting. Most of the work can be quite hard with the sun and wind. A breakfast (oatmeal) and a simple and mostly organic dinner are included in the stay. The other food will have to be covered by yourself. Cleaning after a meal is shared and not included in work-time. A bicycle can be provided, and we love to do acroyoga and surf.

    For the next period we are looking for persons that can help with:
    * Cooking and cleaning;
    * Planting trees and cacti in the garden (digging holes and planting);
    * Carrying rocks and build walls;
    * Sometimes playing a bit with Simeon :)

    We are looking for energetic and positive persons that can help in the building of this agriculture farm. We aim to make it sustainable and use traditional techniques for the soil, the toilet, the water heating system.

    Our land provides a relaxed atmosphere in the countryside. You are invited to join us on the Volcanic Desert Island of Fuerteventura, Canary Island: an island with a unique desert-like climate, a challenge we will need to overcome more and more in this world..

    Workers can learn languages (English or Spanish), work hard in a warm climate, surf or do acroyoga together, bike/run/swim in the area.

    We provide a 2-persons tent north of the container, placed on pallets, with a 1,20 x 2m bed, and covered by a shade sail.
    Outdoor shower is done, and now we also have a solar warm water system (and for the colder days a gas boiler). We have an outdoor dry toilet (not smelly) for composting.

    We can help with a bicycle, there is a hourly bus service connecting all villages in the North. Hitchhiking is also common on the island. Walking trails start close to our land. Beaches for surfing, diving, chilling are around 15km away.
